I'm not sure if this thread should be here, but I didn't know where else to post this.

I'm confused with the critical effects... Bleed, pain, precise hit, blind, burn and all those; if something says: Chance of critical effect: Disarm + 10%, does that mean that when I get a critical I have a 10% chance of getting disarm, or does it mean that with each hit I have that chance? Or maybe it enchances the effect of a disarm by 10%?? I'm not really sure how criticals and the effects work. I'm in chapter II, and I'm wondering if I should get a blue meteorite sword. Plz help! Thanks! :)

I always took it to mean that a particular weapon had a greater percentage chance of causing a critical effect like pain . A modder may know more . I don`t know exactly where you are in act 2 but there is a better sword to be found in this act . You can certainly purchase the blue sword if you have the orens and 3 pieces of meteorite ore . Don`t read the spoiler unless you don`t mind them

This is how I think it works:

Each enemy has some base resistance (0 to 100%, where 100% is immunity) to each critical effect.

If you have one enhanced chance of critical effect, multiply it by (100% minus the enemy's resistance). For example, if your enemy is 80% resistant to Disarm, then Disarm + 10% gives you 10% x (100% - 80%) = 2%, a 2% chance of Disarm on each strike.

If you have stacked chances of critical effect, you have to multiply them by the rule of add-on percentages first. Say you have Bleeding + 10% and Bleeding + 30%. Multiply (100% + 10%) x (100% + 30%) = 100% + 43%. If your enemy is 80% resistant to Bleeding, you now have a 43% x (100% - 80%) = 8.6% chance of Bleeding on each strike.

Anyway, you can get a triple red meteorite sword early in the game. This is my favorite meteorite sword, because the combination of enhanced damage and bleeding is devastating against humanoid enemies. It makes a good companion to the named swords you will find along the way, and it is still useful late in the game.

Ok, thanks for that! :)

And, a little off topic question - when do you think I should get the Excellent Leather Jacket? I'm near the end of chapter II (only thing remaining is to go into the tower) and I have about 4300 gold right now (I think..). I'll get money from the alghoul and drowned dead contract as soon as I kill some. I'm asking because the red meteorite sword costs 1000 orens, and I don't know when I'll be able to get money for all of that.

I think you might want to read the spoiler in Tommy's post. It could help you decide.
