In the final phase of "The claws of madness" quest, you get to choose between giving the wraith heart and eyes of a pig, or the nekker pieces. I want to give the wraith the pig pieces. But somehow I'm not allowed to drop the nekker heart and eyes I already got on me. The action is not allowed, scince it is a quest item. When I confront the wraith, he attacs. I'm asuming the game give the wraith the nekker pieces by default. Is this a bug?

The wraith attacks because the pieces aren't real human flesh...the The Wraith can tell the difference between human flesh and pig flesh or even nekker flesh so he STILL attacks.

The thing is you CAN'T TRICK the Wraith even with Nekker flesh or even pig flesh.
It's 'NOT a bug' as it saids in the journal the Wraith could tell the difference between human flesh and pig flesh and knew what human anatomy looked like.

I also had nekker flesh and pig flesh but still gave him pig flesh quest items since the items did disappeared from my quest items list.

Trying to trick a ghost when 'the ghost is smarter than you think' because he was a soldier who knew what human flesh looked like...he wasn't stupid to fall for such a trick.

It doesn't really matter with this mission as you still save the mens lives, but you can also let then get punished by Loredo or kill them yourself it's up to you.
I admit this did baffle me a bit on the quest items, but even though I still passed the mission as successful it didn't really worry me because I read in the journal that you couldn't trick the ghost who knew about human anatomy.

Sorry, that's not the case. In the Game Guide it spesifically says that the Wraith will buy it if you bring it a pigs heart and eyes. Page 33 in our Game Guide from TW2 box claims that the wraith will lift the curse if Geralt bring the pig items.
That's why I'm wondering if the quest phase is kinda' buggy...

Then the Game Guide is wrong, not the game. MaskedReaper explained it correctly.

When Geralt returns to the ghost with the pig eyes and hearts, he makes the ghost lift the curse BEFORE he gives the ghost the pig parts. After the ghost removes the curse, Geralt gives the ghost the eyes and hearts, but the ghost immediately realizes that they are not from a human and attacks Geralt.

So the manual is partially correct in that the curse IS lifted, but you now have a pissed-off ghost on your neck.

Note: I noticed that the Game Guide does have other quest errors in it, so use it as a general outline, but not a "written in stone" sorta thing.

I dont know if this is a bug, but I cant get a response from the ghost at all. Either with pig parts, or nekker parts,so am unable to finish the quest. Or am I just missing somethig obviouse? My journal confirms I have the parts, and that I'm going back to give these to the ghost.

Yes, tried that. Now they just hang around the entrance expecting me to kill the ghost. The ghost though, just kneels over his dead body and ignores me.

Do you have at least two hearts and two eyes? (I've only used nekker, but I assume it's the same for pigs)
- It could fail to trigger if you don't have enough, although this is unlikely as I gather it always defaults to nekker anyway and you must have enough nekker. I just dropped something like 65 nekker hearts to test this.

Does he say anything at all, like "they deserve to die" before he ignores you?
- I've just tried speaking to him before fulfilling the conditions, and that's what happened. If this is what you're getting, I'd guess at you not having triggered something. If he ignores you completely, I think it's more likely to be a bug.

When you went in for the second time, did you fall through the floor from the room above, or did you use some other route to get there?
- I've seen a couple of other cases where a player has used an unexpected method of getting somewhere, and it's caused the quest to fail (I'd consider this a bug). The game expects you to fall in through the broken floor in the room above (where the first two wraiths were). If you've found a different route, it could be the cause of the problem. If so, try backtracking and going in a different way.

You should get an option to lead them back to the ghost... maybe this gets invoked first by the ghost?

(I chose this path because my Geralt considers both men guilty of putting terrible suffering on others and they deserve this fate.)

This problem occures the second time i meet the ghost. So I've already chosen not to sacrfice the two guys. In another game, before I got stuck with the no save bug. I did give these two to the ghost, and it worked fin with this choice. With my current problem I first tried with 2 Nekker eyes and hearts, and it failed , so I tried with 2 pig eyes, and hearts, while still having nekker parts. I did not fall through the wooden section of flooring into the ghosts chamber, but took the rout, I had taken to find the ghost. As I approached the ghost the wooden floor fell in, and the ghost turned twards his own corpse. The nothing. So the rout was the same as when I did sacrifice the two guys in a previous game, and got the required response. I have since re entered the chamber through the hole left by the wooden floor. still no luck. my bet is it's a bug. I seem to be hitting quite a lot.

Well, I've run out of ideas.

Do you have anywhere you can upload the savegame? It would be interesting to take a look, and the last time I got stuck, someone was able to see the reason from the save.

Climb and descend the ladder that you were meant to take in the first place to reach the ghost after having gotten the pigs eyes etc. Presumably it will trigger something.

I think you should just load a save from before you first talked to the ghost and try again.

I'm having the same problem too. I've even reloaded to try again. No matter what I do I can't talk to the ghost at all to give him the fake hearts and eyes he just sits at his corpse acting all emo.

*Edit* I just tried dropping all my eyes and hearts before leading the guy out so the next part wouldn't auto complete. I went back inside and picked the eyes back up hoping that might fix whatever was wrong but sadly I still can't talk to the ghost.

*Edit 2* Tried again this time dropping all my nekker hearts and eyes and then bringing the guy outside and then running back to town to buy the pig parts. Went back and still no luck with being able to talk to the ghost. I even then picked the nekker parts back up and tried talking to him with both and still nothing.

I just ended up bringing the guys to the ghost so I could complete the quest. I'm not patient enough to waste hours trying to figure what's wrong with just 1 quest.

I've never had this bug, and it's annoying me that I can't think of an answer.
