In order to kill a wraith it's said I need to find the wraith's body, dig it up, and put an aspen stake through the body's heart and then burn the body for good measure. So what is, and where do I get an aspen stake?

Also, there are other quests that require I first have some monster I need to kill in the bestiary. Is that true, do I actually need it in the bestiary? And if so, who has the books on some theses things (Alghoul, and epinoch? vines for one thing? Also, what's the use of the skill to get information on enemies you'll come across into the bestiary without needing to read a book first if it doesn't work?

No, you don't need an aspen stake.

You don't need a bestiary entry to kill a monster; you need a bestiary entry to get ingredients from it.  For example, if Kalkstein wants ghoul blood, you need the bestiary entry to get the blood, not to kill the ghoul.

The Antiquarian has books you can buy.  There's one in the inn in the Outskirts in Chapter 1, one in Temple Quarter in Chapter 2, along with the other merchants, and another in Chapter 3.

That skill gives you some monsters, not all of them.  It gives you a few of the low-level monsters.  It can be useful when you first start the game, but by the time you've reached Chapter 2, it's useless.

You can also get some bestiary entries by talking to people, especially old women.  Many of them want a piece of food before they'll talk.

Want to be IN a computer game? I'm making one, and I want a picture of you! See here for details.

I've made three new adventures for TW1; you can get them at corylea.com/.

I've also made a bunch of mods that fix bugs, kill annoyances or tweak gameplay; you can get those at the Witcher Nexus.
