When Geralt leaves Detective Raymond's place at midnight in the very early part of chapter two, and gets attacked by salamandra assasins outside in Vizima, what's the best way to kill those annoying and pesky salamandra assasins outside???, please help.

In addition to those excellent suggestions:
There are guards near the gate to the Dike. Run to them. They will help.
One of the wiseguys is an archer. Take him down early, otherwise he will continue to hit you even at long range.
A tactic I have not tried is to run down the stairs to the sewer landing. Salamanders are not the sharpest tools in the shed; they try to follow you into narrow places, letting you pick them off one by one.
