I don't know what kind of games you like, but don't expect much from that kind of "RPG". Usually they don't have any decision making, choice and consequence or meaningful character development. They might have interesting stories and flashy, tactical combat which could be entertaining, but so called jRPGs lack most relevant role-playing elements. Instead there's lots of grinding and power gaining.

That said I have actually enjoyed some of these games, like Final Fantasy IV and Chrono Trigger. But if you want the more authentic experience stick to the PC :)
Facio, Voco, Ferre.

PC does not equal Windows. Personal computers run many different operating systems, like GNU/Linux and, why not, Windows. PC games should be available for all major platforms. Let's not be handcuffed and tied to one vendor. Utilize standard, cross-platform technologies!

Recently bought Final Fantasy VII from PSN. Never previously bothered with the FF franchise, even though I've been aware of its existence ever since I was a kid, but I put my AC3 experience on hold for awhile and was looking for an RPG game to play and a friend of mine recommended FF7 (and FF6 for that matter) as a 'must play game' when it comes to good RPGs.

While it has certainly received impressive scores / reviews, not exactly sure what to expect from it. But eh, guess I'll have to find out. ›››

Uuh, Final Fantasy, huh? Well as I have myself played FFVII (and other FF installments as well) I can vouch for that it is truly a spectacular game, with well written characters (Not only do you get a whole cast of characters, but they all are very different and have their own personalities), intriguing plot (mixed equal measures of romantic tension, conspiracy theory, action, pathos, comedy and no "good vs evil" story). It's definitely not your generic JRPG, which is one reason why it is so popular amongst gamers.

But if I know you right, it may not exactly be that type of game you'd expect. As Volsung said, it is after all an JRPG, and it doesn't offer you choices with consequences that impact the world. There are some small choices, mostly between characters, but nothing major. The characters are however very well written, and develop throughout the game. But I'm certain you will enjoy the plot, as well as the characters who accompany you through the journey. The main protagonist, while well written, I highly doubt he'd make it into your rooster of favorite protagonist, but you'll certainly not hate him.

But really, I urge you to give it a shot, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it, even with the outdated graphics.

I have to agree with others here, don't expect a 'standard' RPG.

I played it in high school, after hearing a lot about it, including a bunch of spoilers. Decided to go for it anyway and had a lot of fun. It's an enjoyable game - clichéd at times, but I loved how plain silly it would get. (This is also why I'm against a remake, Advent Children did not, and remakes would not capture that chibi silliness, it seems to be all about cool fights and brooding characters now.) The characters are likeable, even though you might miss recruiting a few if you're not careful or know how to get them (I never got Yuffie, for example). I was (pleasantly) surprised there was more to characters than what the fandom had presented to me - Cloud isn't a brooding emo, Vincent isn't exactly all corpses and coffins, Tiffa is awesome, and there is a bunch of those that don't get mentioned much these days. There are a lot of 'secret'/hard to find or win events that you may need a guide for.

All in all, it's a solid game; no wonder it made such a huge impact on the gaming as a whole. I liked FF8 even more, but that one seems to be highly subjective.

Just finished ME2 (a few seconds ago): omg that was epic! multiorgasmicly epic actually LOL

Aaaaaaanyway...
in ME1 the story was still good, but I like all the elements and twists they put in this sequel. I think all the best part of it came when creating this game. And the giant Terminator-reaper was awesome. I followed the legal path till the end of the game, Illusive Man's choice included. Just curious: what did you choose? I mean about the reaper and Cerberus?

Oh, you just reminded me of
and this character's story. It was interesting to change opinions about this character as you find out more.

Eidos Montreal is working with OcRemix on 8 remix tracks of the original Deus Ex OST. They will be released for free, the first one being The Search for Ambrosia (originally NYC Streets). MP3 direct link.

This is going to be awesomeeeee ;_;

I've been playing NWN2, the official campaign. I figured since I got it from GOG (with lots of content) I'd play the campaign first and then Mask of the Betrayer. Always play the bad one first, that way you get to enjoy both.

If you forget the fact that the story is virtually nonexistant, NWN2 isn't half bad. The combat is OK, very similar to the first (which I played in 2002) except party based and RTwP, which I like. Writing is terrible, and so are the NPC's I've met so far. One cliche after the other. It is pretty cool going back to a D&D cRPG after so long. Well I did replay BGII recently, so I should say a 3E D&D cRPG. I like the top-down view and the "tactical" camera view. Graphics are blocky but what can you expect from a 7 year old game?

One thing that blows my mind is why on Earth I'm getting GPU temperatures similar to the ones I get with The Witcher 2? Obviously, the difference in actual GPU load is abysmal. Perhaps NWN2 implements terrible AA and shadows and high-res textures.

Hope I'll finish the main campaign soon and then move on to MotB.

That's good to hear. I was enjoying the game ("discovering" Archangel made me squeal like a little girl), until I realized the real threat to the galaxy was not the invasion of the Reapers, but the sudden takeover of chest-high wallsPosted Image. Maybe I'll pick it back up someday. My mother-hen Sheppard is second only to Geralt.

For any hardcore strategy gamers here, there will be a new Civilization 5 expansion this summer. It'll expand on diplomacy and the end game. Also nine new civs including the Polish.

Yes, bought months ago and never had the time to play and finish it at once. I stopped many times, only yesterday found a peaceful moment to go into the survival mission.
Yes, it's great. Bioware sci fi section apparently works better than the fantasy one. I mean, so far.

Possibly because I came after BG series and NWN1 series, I found it boring, messy and... yes non-existant is correct.

Definitely too much. I follow the legal path but at one point I felt I didn't give a damn to the NPCs, not even one of them I liked. I barely remind Casavir and his banal dull morale. Made look Alistair and Anomen genius in comparison.

This time you won't be disappointed. MoTB is MUCH better than the OC.

If you one day finish it, you'll find out that there's a bigger plan behind. And the Reapers are always on the edge of invasion LOL

Also if you like ME series, I suggest you to read this fan comic here http://epantiras.dev...cover-216376166
It'll make you laugh to tears.

Now, I'm pondering the idea of purchasing ME3, since it's under discount.

Funny thing but I had the same problem and unlike you my GPU died with lots of smoke. I believe it a game problem, cause never before I had such high temperatures with graphics that are nothing special

Even now my 2 gtx465 reach the temperatures of 107°C. The hottest game ever

It's the shadows, they're enormously overcomplicated, turn 'em off.
