Yeah this is what really turned me off about the game. It already has little gameplay and yet they still didn't go through the trouble of making it non-linear even though they market it as such.

Just watch youtube vids of it really.

I'm captivated by Kotor2, again :fun: Also my internet provider quite sucky nowadays(dling BG EE with 10kb/s...) so i cannot play Planetside2 :/
But Agent 47s "happy face" on games cover is making me nervous so i can give him a go this week :D

Right now i have a choice to play Painkiller:Black Edition, Dishonored, Dark Souls, CoD BLOPS 2, The Last Express, LA Noire, Assassins Creed III, XCOM:EE, The Testament of Sherlock Holmes, but you know what i'm playing? ... yeah, right ------ LEGO Lord of the Rings :) .. i only saw the first movie of the LOTR trilogy last week, the other two many years ago, as a preparation this game, and i must say, this game is great - i have never played the others LEGO games, so this is mine first LEGO game, and it is so much fun..i can play the game with my niece, nephew, my friends or girlfriend on one PC, and that's the way this game is suppose to be played, but it is still fun when you play it just alone.. fantastic atmosphere, great graphics, many things to do in the game, long gameplay, humor, voices from the movies, soundtrack from the movies is used,... one of the best game for me this year

Well that's a shame still I'm going to give it another go just to see for myself. I only spent $12 on it which so I feel I got my moneys worth.

EDIT: So I started playing Walking Dead and I was thining of how I who I wanted to keep alive and such and then I suddenly realized Omid looks like KoP!

Playing Planetside 2 still. Got a friend to join me. And I'm starting to get pretty good at the game. Still playing mostly Combat Medics, but I finally understand the game.

Also started playing the Indie game Don't Starve. It is pretty awesome, but the price is a bit high and after 5 hours, I have nothing major left to do. Its a survival game with a very distinct art style and its pretty fun, if you are interested search for Etho's playthrough on YouTube or buy it on Steam.

I finished Legend of Grimrock. It was a fun ride but by the end also a little tedious. Combat gets a little repetitive, especially because the game encourages you to overuse the boring mechanic of dodging, then attacking and circling larger, slower enemies. Some puzzles were also absurd, with no real connection to the setting on the game's internal logic. The final boss, well... it was worth a couple of laughs. So much anticipation for that however, can almost ruin the ending. All in all, a pretty good effort of bringing back old-school dungeon crawling. Mechanics need to be refined, needs more of the clever puzzles and less of the trial and error kind, and a little more interaction with others in the dungeon (there are only feral monsters). The sense of discovery and exploration was excellent though.

The premise of the game is that prisoners are tossed into the bowels of mount Grimrock, known to the surface world as simply a prison. Little do they know the mountain hosts a plethora of creatures that get tougher with each level you descend, and that there is a deep, dark secret held in the bottom level of the dungeon, which curiously enough is also the key to escaping the mountain.

I thought it might be interesting if there was a society developing within mount Grimrock, unknown to surfacers, with its own economy and laws and whatever. This settlement maybe was started by the first guardians of the ancient fortress, so their goal is to keep whatever is there safely imprisoned. Surfacers however keep sending them prisoners, which they receive and train to use as scouts, workers, whatever. This would add a little more depth to the game, like dialogue and goals beyond simply surviving/escaping. Just my thoughts.

Company of Heroes, of course. Excellent strategy game. Had me planning tactics while away from my computer so that I could come and execute them at night. I'm not even a fan of war games, but this one is just THAT good.

Company of Heroes is an excellent strategy game. I wouldn't be surprised to see S.T.A.L.K.E.R added as a bonus later on which they should it would easily make people up their donations.

As Volsung and Chromie suggested, Company of Heroes. One of the best RTS games ever. A no-brainer. And just like Dawn of War, it has some awesome unit VOs that I keep mumbling to myself to this day :) Seriously, get it!

Hmm, i've played it few months ago and i really enjoyed it. I agree on last boss, not the best for sure. I found puzzles to be good enough. I didn't like race selection though, playing stuff like minotaurs not my thing really. Overall it took me back to old school dungeon crawlers, for that i am grateful. The biggest plus for me was the general feeling. atmosphere the game has. I wish there would be a better story, more mystery to it. Hopefully they will continue to do games like that (think it was made by 4 people or so).

I am definitely getting this, but after Ubisoft fixes their Day 1 patch servers.

I decided to live on the edge and buy before trying Far Cry 3 and it's very good way better than Dishonored.

Infiltrating requires planning leading the guards on a wild goose chase while you pick them off one by one there's lots of cool stuff you can do.

The ending was rushed though was expecting way more but other than that it was great

I'm playing Torchlight 2(great game) and Close Combat Russian front.I forgot how good the close combat series was.Very few RTS games now days have troop morale/mental state, ammunition levels, stamina. It's refreshing playing a RTS game where a mass rush will equal death.

Warhammer: Shadow of the Horned Rat. Great old fantasy battle title, heard that the Creative Assembly are going to be making Warhammer: Total War games, so I thought i'd boot it up and kick some greenskin arse. It's a bit cumbersome, but undoubtedly a deep, challenging and quite atmospheric game. At times it gets pretty fucking brutal, which is nice.

Had to fiddle to get it and Dark Omen working on me rig, but i'm enjoying them immensely. Strangely enough there's more roleplaying mechanics in these RTS's than most RPG's, with some really different paths through the game and choice and consequence systems.

Bloth, as usual you remind me of awesome games buried deep inside some old forgotten chests in the basement. I enjoyed Warhammer titles a lot, they had great atmosphere and choice and consequence. I hear the news about CA taking the Warhammer rights under their wings and I think they are the right studio for the job.

I'll go and dig in the crates for those old CDs now.

I wouldn't have minded CDPR taking a tilt at this license, the Old World setting is a lot like the Northern Kingdoms and there is a similar focus on not just crafting happy ever after tales.
