I am at the Salamandra hideout in the "forbidden" part of town .  As soon as the fighting starts, it is game over for me.  I tried using BLIZZARD and I have some SWALLOWS in reserve.  I have tried all my signs on the thugs and the mage but I never get very far.  As soon as I attack the mage I can only get a couple sword swings in.  He summons the ifrits and that's when I die.  What am I doing wrong????  After trying this about 50 times and trying different things with no luck, it is starting to get very frustrating.   Please help.

This one can be very hard at times . If you have any bombs now would be a good time to use 2-3 also crinfrid oil on the blade or a runic stone can be useful of course tawny owl and swallow for potions and a charged up aard goes well here as well

Victory!!!  Bombs are key, not sure why I couldn't figure that out.  Feeling dumb right now, but will remember this next time.

Did you take the "seeing" stone from the urn as well as the key from the mage you killed earlier . You may also want to look in the basement .

There are two stones: a Power Stone on the mage's corpse and a Seeing Stone on a tripod near the mirror. The Seeing Stone is the one you must take. (You'll need a Power Stone later, but there's another convenient one.)

You also have to talk to Radovid through the mirror.

If you got the Seeing Stone and talked to Radovid, you should get the set piece with the werewolf after you exit the hideout. If you did both those things and didn't get the werewolf encounter, something is bugged.
