I always wondered whether that was the theme of Assassins of Kings, you know that the theme of the first game is "what is a monster?" Well I wondered whether the theme of the second game is "what is a witcher?" Letho is like a dark reflection of Geralt in so many ways, he focuses on the ends rather than the means, he is huge and strong whereas the white wolf is slim and stringy, he plans and manipulates instead of charging in headlong, he acts instead of accepting and he's frequently underestimated whereas Geralt is famed and feared far and wide. ›››

That's definitely how I see it.
And the beauty of it all, it's subtle. Geralt and Letho can still not only end up mutually respecting each other but also potentially have a moment to relive their past friendship.

I think the overlying theme of both games is change in the world order and how individuals, heads of states and nations react in its wake.

I agree. After all, reading Sapkowski's books, those are all "main messages" the author put into the plot. And so, in games as well, CDP reflect such "messages"! ;)

I've been playing the witcher 2 again. This time my girlfriend is with me and I made a joke. "Do you want to watch me play the witcher 2?" -> I used the axii sign with my hand. Then out of the blue she agreed to it. :)

Personal and off topic plot:
Fragment from a Ll. Llach' song

El meu país és tan petit
que sempre cap dintre del cor
si és que la vida et porta lluny d'aquí
i ens fem contrabandistes,
mentre no descobreixin
detectors pel secrets del cor.
I és així, és així com m'agrada a mi
I no en sabria dir res més.
Canto i sempre em sabré
malalt d'amor pel meu país.

My country is so small
that it always fit within your heart
if life takes you away from here,
and we become in smugglers
while they do not discover
detectors for the secrets of the heart.
And it's so, so as I like me
I do not really say anything else,
I sing and I always wil know
that I am sick of love for my country

Never apologize for the translation of a song so beautiful as that one. Am I right in thinking it is Catalan?
The amateur tenor, whose vocal villainies
All desire to shirk,
Shall during off hours exhibit his powers
To Madame Tussaud's wax-work.

Indeed! Welcome Slime. Know that you can't join the club till you've slayed your first nekker dead-drunk on Vodka...which I suspect you've already done. This thread brings back memories from the original TW1 forum.

Why thank you, and not only have I slain my first nekker dead-drunk on Vodka..
I may accidentaly found myself in a Rotfiend cave. Quite the fun story I must admit, I may or may not have been drinking before that... I'll leave that in the middle :X anyway, I liked how they exploded and killed each other with it! Loads of fun! :P

Question for the gents, when I was a young lad i'd wake up with a morning glory that I had to use two hands to push down, it was as faithful and fabulous as the morning itself. But lately i've found that the old warrior, his hair now riddled with white, can be pushed aside with a single hand.

So my question is: Why am I getting stronger?
I was once asked by a journalist what my thoughts were on the modern world slipping into ignorance and apathy, I told him, "I don't know and I don't fucking care!"

Either because of practice, or because of growing older... :yes

Maybe it`s not you. Could be the "Morning Glory" is getting a bit on the weak side :P You fertilizing it properly so that it retains strength and vigor?

Many, many years of diligent practice will fell even the mightiest oak. In reciprocal, I might ask why as a lanky 16 yr old I had a grip strong enough to crush coal into diamonds.

I'm confused as well. Despite being thin my entire life, there seems to be a sagging effect of some kind above the Morning Glory area.

Have never killed a nekker while drunk though, maybe that has something to do with it? :D Never even been to those parts of the woods, but at least I have an entry card now. Doesn't work though :(

May I still enter? *lifts right hand and shows a half-rotten skull of a Devourer, with a tooth pulled out*

Had a great time rolling in the snow and playing with me dogs this afternoon, why is it that a bit of frozen rain turns me into a big kid again?

Maybe because us men never "grow up" too far to lose that kid inside of us? ;)
