And so I thought, where is the one place in this forum where us guys can kick back and discuss things closest to our heart? And here it is. :)

Nothing's off topic in this thread. Just discuss whatever comes to mind. Tell us what you like, what you dislike, what you think of a particular game, or a movie, or what sport you enjoy. Anything.

Just ducking in for a second, to say

I think this is a great idea, Vilgefortze!

Well i guess i`ll start this doggie rolling. Personally i love fishing no i`m not talking about with artificial lures shoot that`s too much like work i`m talking about with live or dead bait and it doesn`t matter if i catch anything or not as i`m there for relaxation. Of course if i do catch something that just the icing on the cake. But generally i go by myself the one kid at home although he`s not a kid anymore don`t like it he says "it`s boring" especially when i say no cell phones as that`s the reason i go in the first place . To get away from all the racket. No tv no ringing phone  just peace and quiet and when i`m on the river 8 hours seems like only 1

Thanks Cory. Help yourself to anything from the freezer :)
Havn't got the bar working yet. Need some time to set up....

@Tommy
Well...when I want some peace and quiet Tommy, I SLEEP. Maybe you should try it too. :)

*helps himself to a beer from the freezer*
I tried playing Darksiders earlier today. Man... it sucks. Kept reminding me of GOW and DMC. Nothing new. Flashy....yes.. but generic. Gave it up after a few hours. Played that game?

Too late for me for that i get my 6 hours a night and none through the day. I`ve tried staying awake later at night hoping to sleep in the next morning and that don`t work for me either. See i`ve got this internal alarm clock that goes off at between 3:30 and 4:00 every morning weekends included and holidays too every once in a great blue moon i may sleep to 4:30 but that`s it . I envy you guys that can sleep 8-10 hrs.

Hm... I went to bed past 1 am today and woke up at 3 pm, lol :P
Now I probably won't go to bed till 4 or 5 am, now in Poland it's 2 am ^^

Good idea with the men lounge. I'd have to visit it often :)

Btw, are you guys watching handball WC? Poland lost by 1 point to Denmark in 2nd round... Our chances to reach semis are quite low now. Pity, considering fact that our team should fight for podium. However, Denmark's not poor, either... :(

@Vilgefortze, I've actually played Darksiders. In my opinion it combines several games, such as Legend of Zelda or Devil May Cry, in one. To a degree of even copying. But, to me at least, it copies well.
The whole thing is a little generic, but really fun if you give it a while.

Oddly enough, I enjoyed the slightly weird story.

8-10?
Dude. My regular is somewhere between 4-5 hours. Maximum 6 hours maybe. My sleeping hours are very irregular. I sleep whenever I'm tired, wake up at odd hours. Oh...my sleeping pattern's a mess. ;)

@Silver
You think I should give it another shot then? I'm still in the early stages. I quit when I was in the area where you talk to that stone door dude and complete a bunch of challenges through 4 portals.
My favorite Horseman is Death anyway. But I'll give it a try.

I mean, the last 2 games I played have been such disappointments. Gothic and Two worlds . I was probably too quick to throw this out ....
I was actually thinking about returning to some of the older games for a while. You know...ones I KNOW are good.

@szypek
I'm mortally afraid of sports. If you knew me, you'd know why. I look like a faint breeze could carry me away. The only thing I play (except stuff on a computer or a console) is chess. But I prefer the computer version of that too. At least my "opponent" doesn't start grumbling about me taking too long. :(

Let me put it that way, Vilgefortze. If you don't try, you'll have to find some other way to spend your time. If you do, you mind end up disliking the game. Or possibly liking it.
Really, your choice.

May I ask which Gothic you tried out?

Gothic 4. Ran into a whole lot of glitches. Got stuck in tree roots. Fell infinitely through darkness after walking into a room. And there was one time I got stuck inside a wall. I have no idea how I got there. The voice acting could have been better too.

I decided to give Darksiders a shot. If I don't give it a try, it's the same (almost) as disliking it anyway. But if I end up liking it...
I've nothing to lose, really. :)

Yeah, nothing to lose. And after all, you payed money for it. or not if you borrowed it from a friend or something.

Ahh, Gothic 4.
Yes. Without going into too much, I consider myself a fan of the Gothic series. I liked the first, loved the second and even enjoyed the third. That being said. I didn't even consider, at any given time, to try out the fourth.

If I may recommend, the newest and closest to a good Gothic, without being Gothic, would be the game "Risen", by the original creators of Gothic, Piranha Bytes. Gothic 4 on the other hand was made by Spellbound, I believe.

Also, considering that this is the Men's lounge, what is more manly than chopping wood?:

Already played Risen dude. Loved it. Except the final boss fight. It was...kind of a let down.

*Dons Monocle*

Well, I enjoyed reading Beowulf and The Odyssey greatly. Two of my favorite stories I must say.

And how about those breasts?

There's my contribution. ;)

Heaven help me. I've gone back in time, to the ancient past where people wore monocles.

I'm planning on getting it. After I'm done with TR: Underworld that is. It has a horrible camera but the story and huge scaled puzzles are still charming for me. I haven't played DMC before. Once I tried one game from the series on my cousin's PS2, pointy graphics and gun shooting didn't appeal to me. However, GOWs are very good. I'm done with 1 and 2. Actually that's the reason I have an eye on Darksiders :)

You spoke of a stone door. Is it something like Fable's demon doors or completely different? Yes or no.

On a side note, I wish I could sleep less like you guys. I need to work on the time I go to bed and V for Vendetta was a great movie The Silver. "V" had convinced me to the walk on 5th November :D

And a question, does anyone know why today's games have so many graphical glitches?

1. Stone doors are some huge stone guys blocking your path. You do them a favor, and they move aside to let you through.

2. A complex system is bound to have more loopholes. Hence the glitches. :) You win some, you lose some. If you are able to see each blade of glass accurately, you'll have to get stuck in a wall of two every now and then.

Talking about fishing, it's something I sometimes did when I was younger. It was very relaxing and fun, but all the small mosquitos and crap made it a living hell at times! Great fun with lake fishing though, and trying to reel that thing in before it snaps away.

In terms of relaxing, nothing beats being in Mother Nature. Out hiking, going on top of a mountain, or going off to the sea in a boat. Find a lagune or small island somewhere and throw anchor. Do some BBQing. It's GREAT!
Sadly I haven't been able to do that for a very long time now.

Anybody like good old rock n roll in here btw? Or classic rock I suppose is the correct term these days. Big fan myself. It's lovely to blast when I'm feeling frustrated or angry, or just want to enjoy some beers. Even better for getting in party mood. Heck, I'm getting a fat grin on my face just by the thought :D

I used to fish occasionally.

I used to hunt for deer, bird, and Elk.

I used to rock climb, and hike. High mountain stuff, above 10,000 to 12,000 feet was my favorite.

I used to have a life.....

Now I just play video games!!  :)

@Pangaea
I listen to classic rock too. What do like specifically?

I don't do much fishing. I did some hiking and rafting. But I find it far from relaxing. It's more about adventure than relaxing for me.

@slimgrin
