I took a look at the documents online and I really want to read them but at the same time, I feel like I'll be reading spoilers for the upcoming game. So yeah, I don't know exactly if I should read or not.

You will enjoy the games much more, if you will read the books first. Trust me on that.

Thanks for the reply. I read a couple of pages on little of Short Stories from Sword of Destiny. I think that is where I need to start? It's kind of complicated which you're supposed to read first. I got hooked immediately to the story and I never read books. Sadly not all books are officially translated to english (or Dutch, my native language). I am sure many people would love the books and stories. I can't even get the books in English from any store here. Which is sad.

No, there's a recognized order in which you should read them:

The Last Wish
Sword of Destiny
Blood of Elves
Times of Contempt
Baptism of Fire
Tower of Swallows
The Lady of the Lake

The problem I'm having is that I can't bring myself to read the last book. I know that

so I can't quite seem to make myself even start that book. Maybe before TW3 comes out, I'll manage it.
Want to be IN a computer game? I'm making one, and I want a picture of you! See here for details.

I've made three new adventures for TW1; you can get them at corylea.com/.

I've also made a bunch of mods that fix bugs, kill annoyances or tweak gameplay; you can get those at the Witcher Nexus.

The title of the 4-th book should be "The Tower of the Swallow". Word "jaskółki" (polish title "Wieża jaskółki") has double meaning. Without full sentence it does mean Swallows (denominator, plural) but it means the Swallow (genitive, singular) too, like in the title of the book.

Sorry for any mistakes.

Since The Witcher have spread the interest for the saga written by Andrzej Sapkowsi all over the world, more and more English readers want to enjoy the stories in this language.

Fortunately, there are many members with creativity, talent, willingness to make us happy, and some of them are doing very well with the art of writing. More fortunately, these kind members have decided to share with us stories from Andrzej Sapkowski's books, translated in English, just to raise the appetite until the publishers give us the whole work.

I 'll put them together in this topic, because such love and devotion can't be unnoticed. :)/>

Don't fear it, according to the games Geralt and Yennefer are still alive, and the book allows for that interpetation :)
Through these fields of destruction...Baptisms of fire
I've witnessed all your suffering...As the battle raged higher
And though they did hurt me so bad...In the fear and alarm
You did not desert me...My brothers in arms

So I've started on reading the Dutch translation of The Last Wish. Which is very interesting so far. I really enjoy it. I've been reading for 4 days now and I am on page 203 at the edge of the world. I believe it is called. I am a pretty slow reader but I love it. I never read a book so it's my first voluntarily book since... 15 years? At first I compared the English and Dutch versions with each other. I did not get the Dutch translation and the English translation was easier to follow and felt more consistent. However it turns out that being a native Dutch speaker, my dutch is pretty horrible. I know all about medieval/fantasy terms when it comes to English, but to my own native language... I don't. I can't tell which version is 'better'. Mainly because I can't read or speak Polish.

Apparantly Sword of Destiny has also been translated to Dutch. Available as an e-book or physical copy. I haven't checked the library yet for this title but I will. Now the fan translation has 223 pages but the Dutch book has a whopping 429. I wondered if there'd be something missing in the fan translation. But maybe the book is just small. I'm just happy I can continue reading the Dutch Geralt of Rivia. :P

OH! apparantly the Dutch translation of The Sword of Destiny is a translation of the German translation... Now I am not sure how well the German translation was of the book. I am a bit sceptical on a translation of a translation.

May I ask which translations have been completed with those books?

Ohhh my! My inner fangirl had such a squeegasm just now. How have I not found this thread before?!

Thank you so much to the devoted and wonderful fans for putting in such an amazing effort to make these translations possible!!! I feel kind of terrible that they're so freely available to read and Ihave nothing to offer in return except my sincerest thanks and a huge smile!

:)

Edit: The only downside (and this is for the smallest minority) is that you can't change the font size in the eReader, which isn't really an issue for anyone with good vision anyway. Honestly though, this is a small price to pay! I don't mind having my eReader up to my nose on the bus - let 'em stare! :D/>

Yes, please. And write how much you edited in every book. Thanks.

Some typos. Sometimes there are sentences with entirely different meanings, but it appears rarely. Some mistakes with singular and plural. No mistakes in the story what is most important. I can't judge its grammar, I'm not English. Anyway, it is well translated IMO. Enjoy :)

If someone has problems with Google Docs, PM to me and I will send these books by email. I have them also in .doc .docx .rtf format.

can someone confirm if the fan translations are full or are there chapters/ pieces missing because some of the books seem kind of small?
I just started the Last wish about 50+pages in and some of the short stories seem to end too fast like the one when the knights of the white rose want to banish Geralt from the temple of Melitele. that one only has 1-2 chapters.... is that right or is the translation incomplete.
The pdf i have is about 180 pages long

You can find The Last Wish and The Blood of Elves at bookstores. What you read is not a fan translation, it's the official work.
