Received the saved game, loaded from there, made the potion, went up to the room, with the same results.  Double clicking Triss's potion does nothing....I must be missing something very simnple??????

When you click on Triss does the inventory screen open with a gift box just to the left of the screen if it does try dragging the potion to the gift box

OK i see you use steam .well actually i knew it but forgot.
Have you verified file integrity through steam as well as checking for updates to steam itself
What game version are you on ?

Checked file integrity and it passed.  Have game set up for automatic updates.  Playing Enhanced Version Director's Cut...could not find numeric game version......ugghhh....

I guess the easiest way without starting the game would be to go to your witcher/system folder and hover your mouse over the witcher exe and note the version that appears if it shows 1.5.0.1304 then you are on the latest version

Hmmmmm....it looks like version 1.0.0.83....and I thought good ol Steam automatically installed updates when you had that feature turned on......

Is there a Djinni listing with what looks like genies lamp beside it if you hover your mouse on it that should also say 1.5.0.1304

When clicking on Triss the gift box should appear with a red circle around it on the lower left of screen . you should be able to click that and then the inventory should open. Then drag the potion to the round circle with the hands

Unfortunately my cursor on that screen only moves left to right and not up and down...thus can't click the box.....

and yes.....I do have the latest version........mouse works fine in gabe play, just stuck with horizontal movement only in the gift box screen......

when you click launcher and get to the options screen click game options and make sure invert mouse is not checked

You might try a lower screen res in order to get the mouse maybe to contact the gift box. The only other recourse would be a saved game directly after the giving of the potion after the cutscene where you get the card if i remember correctly which getting at our age is iffy at best
