Yes, I realize there are a number of these threads, but there's so many different phases to the problem--it may be that I have to clear some people before I can preoceed, but I have no idea how to do it.  I was hoping to get Kalkstein's quests (alghouls and the tower) but I'm stuck at 8 sephiroth and I can't get into the cemetary.  I would like to go there, not only because I'm guessing I might find alghouls but because I have an inkling (maybe totally wrong) that I'll learn something about Detective Raymond there.  I'm tryijng to avoid spoiling, but I had the dialog option to express suspicion of him to the gravedigger, so I'm thinking I might find out something about him there.

1 I cleared the dwarf banker fairly early
1) Vincent Meis--won't let me into the cemetary because he's pissed at me for accusing him.  It really, really annoys me that Geralt is completely tactless and can't ask people questions without trying to bully them and acting like he has already made up his mind that they're guilty.  He is such  a crummy investigator.
2) If I could clear Thaler, I could get the gravedigger to let me into the cemetary--but I have no clue how to do that.
3) I did the autopsy and it cleared Ramsmeet and the alchemical poison pointed to Kalkstein, so I went and told Ramsmeet that he was in the clear.
4) I talked to the Detective and he told me to question Kalkstein...so I did, but just got called a fool.
5) I went back to the detective, who is now convinced that Kalkstein & Ramsmeet are working together, although I already cleared Ramsmeat.  Now, I've noticed the fisstech and Geralt has noticed some vibration in his medallion...I'm beginning to suspect Raymond's a vampire because of Dandelion's hints at Shani's party.  So I made some (typically tactless) comments to Raymond about my suspicions, but nothing came of them.  Still, it occurs to me that the only way I know the prisoner was even dead, much less that the body I autopsied was his is Raymond--so I'm thinking he could be framing Kalkstein.
6)  So now he wants me to kill Ramsmeet, even though I've cleared him.  I thought well, it seems stupid to kill him, but I said I would try, figuring I'd have some dialog options.  But when I go to Ramsmeet's house, I don't have any options to do anything, he just tells me to beat it.  There's no option to kill him, no option to tell him the Detective's trying to kill him.  I might be able to just take out my sword and attack (can I attack friendllies?), but it seems like a pointless and stupid thing to do when I don't actually believe Raymond.

So...any suggestions as to what I can do to get out of this mess?  I still have a bunch of uncleared suspects (Meis, Thaler, Leuwarden) in addition to Kalkstein., but I have no idea how to clear them.

Here you go:
1. You cannot clear Vincent till the whole investigation is over.
2. If the autopsy is done, do the party quest for Shani, and after the party, talk to her about how she should be with someone. She'll say stuff that'll clear Thaler.
3. If you cleared Ramsmeat, I do not think you can kill him. You can re-enter the house of the detective and just tell him "Ramsmeat won't be a problem anymore"
4. As for your alghouls, go to the swamp. There is a place in the swamp with 2 corpses, one of a woman, and a fireplace close by, near the fallen tower, and the wyvern island. Alghouls spawn there(along with ghouls) each night.
5. Your last 2 sephirot will come from the Tower guardian quest and the last one from Raymond himself. Talk to kalkstein and then Vaska to get a tower tarot card to initiate the tower guardian quest thingy. raymond gives his sephirot after you have all 9.
6. Your suspicions are rewarded. Something IS wrong with Raymond, but I'd rather not tell you what it is. And no, he's not a vampire.

And just to add something about Leuvaarden. He can be cleared in two ways, as far as I know. The first is to follow up on the salamander brooches quest. By now, you should have heard of a guy collecting them  in The Hairy Bear (he appears there during the night), that starts it. The other option is to search the wyvern island in the swamp, look around for any corpses.

It is also possible to clear Thaler before the autopsy and the party. You need to find a "mysterious man" in front of or inside Thaler's house at around 21:00. Have a chat with that fellow and then go chat with Thaler himself. That should clear him fast and easy.

Don't go half-cocked though. Wyverns are no joke. You should find and excellent sword there as well.

Thanks for that. I didn't know that.

Thanks for the help.  I guess I would have gotten there anyway, but it didn't occur to me that giving roses to Shani would lead to clearing Thaler...and once I got to the graveyard, everything fell out, of course.  Actually placing all my sephiroth was a bit of a challenge since I had to run every time that stupid Coccacidium showed up. Ack!

If you've put some points into Igni try shooting fireballs to it from afar. It works really well.

It's important to spend some points in the "chance of incineration" department. That way the overgrown broccoli keeps toasting while you heal.

Also, once you kill the Coccacidium, you'll never meet an Archespore as strong as it is - it's unique. So getting rid of it ASAP makes one life easier :)

Here you go:
1. You cannot clear Vincent till the whole investigation is over.

Actually, I cleared Vincent early on and made him give me the cemetery keys before even having talked to Thaler a second time.

But..
I don't remember what exactly I did (talking about my current playthrough) but everyone was cleared, except Ramsmeat and Thaler at one point (and maybe Kalkstein - I somehow skipped the autopsy part, read down), so I asked Vincent to give me the cemetery key, he did, happily, I went in the crypt, found Raymond's real body, and obviously, everyone was cleared.
In doing so, I skipped the autopsy altogether.

But now, after I go to the detective's house, I don't have any dialogue options.
I've done all other quests and the only thing that's left to do in chapter II besides A Mysteriour Tower and Vizima Confidential is to help the Scoia'tael or the Order in the battle.
I even took a side as to complete that quest..I still can't talk to Raymond.
Tried reloading, etc,
The quest isn't advancing and I can't proceed.

It may be related to the fact that when I went to his house one time and some Salamandra thugs where trying to kill him, and I killed them, after he told me he'd go into hiding and find me later, before he managed to go out of the house, I clicked on him, it initiated a dialogue and treated it the same way as if I had waited and that kid had called me to go talk to him.
He gave me his notes and whatnot and left.
When I walked out of the house, the kid showed up..
I went to Raymond's house again, but there was nobody there, of course.
So I meditated for a few hours, went to hiss house again.
He was there, or, to be precise, Javed was there.
And he doesn't want to talk to me about anything, the only dialogue option I have is "See you".
Have I sodded up badly?

P.S.The Journal still says "I should talk to Raymond. He should be surprised  of some of my findings." or something ot that extent.

P.P.S. Last time, I didn't take part in the fight between the Order and the Scoia'tael, and it gave me the cinematic somewhere after (or during) the tower quest, when Raymond was in the swamp.

I`m sure you will get more replies but if it were me and yes it happened to me as well.I wanted to do the autopsy but couldn`t. I think what i would do is back up to the point where you can do the autopsy and i believe after that things would work out better for you. If you can get to the autopsy do not jump to conclusions but finish it thoroughly and after which you can clear about everybody.

Yes, that was my first thought..
However, my closest save is at the beginning of the chapter.
I periodically clean my savegames folder and leave only my two or three most recent savegames  and one in the beginning of each chapter.
Last time I did that, I didn't think I'd need to replay something..So I proceeded as usual.
Now I have to replay the whole chapter.I don't see any other alternative.

Well actually there is another alternative . You could ask for a saved game in the saved game market. I do know what you mean on the saves  as they can take up a LOT of space on the harddrive
