Exactly. I'm a bit into this game now and...great atmosphere, lots of eye candy. Amazing companions. Still didn't have a major boss battle though but I think I'll.

Loved MP too, mainly because of the matrix style bullet time.
funny part is MP came out before the matrix lol
With Argonauts think my favorite part was the boss fight
@ e-ahmet if your going to go with a Xbox go for a bundle set with a 250 hard drive there are a few deal out there now but think there will be a price drop after Xmas and it would be a good idea to get rechargeable batters they last a lot longer then the play and charge kits that sometimes comes with them

I played MP quite late. I was into strats and rpgs, and rarely played shooters. I started taking interest in shooters much later.

Do you mean Prince of Persia 3D? It was an RPG? Interesting. I know the game but never played it. It would be cool if they added another RPG instead of shit they call Forgotten Sands. It would add much more to the actual play time of the game but maybe that's not a good idea because they would lose their actual fan base. They're sensitive about losing customers you know that's why now they're releasing every game with on-line DRM.

!. Repetitive, unimaginative map design
2. Uninteresting combat. Again, not much variety. One special move varies little from the next
3. Similar models from all enemies. A mummy is a retex ghoul which is a retex zombie in the first place.
4. Too much focus needed on ferrying inventory items back to towns through those portal thingies. Breaks combat experience.
5. NOT an engaging story. Straightforward , without twists.
6. Hours of nothing but clicking. If I remember correctly, you could just keep you mouse pressed on an enemy and watch him get hacked to death.
7. Too long for such a boring piece of *****.
Respectfully, it sucks @$$.

Agreed. :>

Yes.Absolutely true.
7 - Well, not that long.
Still, it came out a long time ago, so one can cut it some slack for points 1 and 2.
Other than that, I agree completely.
That is not to say I didn't have at least SOME fun playing D2 back in 2000-2002.
For its time, it was an almost decent game with which you could kill time when you're bored.
On topic - Yes, I play a lot of other games.
Mostly RPGs, RTSs and some third person shooters/adventure games.
I play only a handful of FPSs - Half-Life 1/2, BioShock and Killing Floor. That's pretty much it.
Currently only focusing on The Witcher, replaying Mass Effect 1 ( for maybe the 20th time) and replaying BioShock.
Tried to get into Dragon Age again, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it, especially after I started playing The Witcher again.
It just paled in comparison so much that I found it funny.
I wanted to finish it, but couldn't.
Before I stopped playing, I found myself only wanting to get Morrigan's approval rating up to 100.I didn't feel like doing anything else.
I did that and abandoned the game.
I just felt it was so shallow, uninteresting, unoriginal, the combat was so generic, unbalanced and badly executed, the quests were boring, the events were extremely predictable and the characters were very bland.
I do realize there will be some BioWare or DA fan, who will lynch me for this, but I don't really give a toss.

Well this one won`t as i agree with you. However i don`t think i would go to the BW boards and repeat same as they would not only lynch you but burn you at the stake before they did that and then ban you for life

I don't go to game forums just to upset people, mate.I've never done it and I don't think I ever will.
Besides, I am only expressing my opinion.
People on here seem more reasonable than people on most other forums. This is why I chose to stay.

IMO this is the best forum around and we are definitely glad to have you aboard and welcome. I find it funny that when you disagree with some people on or about their favorite game they tend to get a little irate. But i too try not to upset people and try to abide by the idea that everybody has their own opinion and are entitled to it. However when opinions vary then we should be able to discuss it openly from both sides and without being hateful or spiteful toward one another
But the mods here do a pretty good job of not letting it get out of hand

Well, I'm glad to be here.
I'm glad there are so many people that know what a good game is and appreciate The WItcher for the masterpiece it is.
As for the rabid fanboys, "a little irate" is a huge understatement.
They don't care about discussions, because they think nobody has the right to have an opinion that differs from theirs.
What's funnier is that most of the time, you are actually pointing out a very big flaw and not nitpicking some absolutely unimportant details, and yet, even if you are right and have a well thought out argument, all they respond with is rage, insults and other stupidity.
Maybe this is a decent place because most of us Witcher fans are reasonable and intelligent people, as opposed to the illiterate, arrogant and bigoted dolts most fanboys are.

I see your point and agree with you
When the Diablo world came out They where very into the Skinner Box and its sitll use to this day in gaming as well as RPG

Maybe it`s the alcohol potions that tend to keep us mellow or the mutagens or both !!

Well, I've been playing games for about 20 or 21 years and I don't feel like a "hardcore gamer" as you put it.
It all comes down to enjoying yourself.

Also, I play some fighting games on my 360, like Street Fighter, and some beat-em-ups like Bayonetta.
I also occasionally go for some Dead Rising.
I've been mostly playing Alan Wake and Vanquish these days.
On my PSP, I generally only play RPGs like Persona, Disgaea and the likes.
How about you ?

Oblivion GOTY with expansions another supposedly and very loosely based rpg if you would even call it that. Of course the witcher which i think i`ve played through about 12 or 13 times and the only one i have that i never get tired of.

by chance while I was at the game store Friday I picked up a copy of Marvel Ultimate Alliance2 enjoyed playing the first one and for 10 buck worth giving this one a shot
Thing for me is I have been game for a very long time ever since I drop my first Quarter in playing Pong
now that going back LOL.
But I never consider myself a hard core gamer I always called my self a Gamer
Imo the idea of a Hard Core gamer was somthing that some one in marketing deparment came up with to get ppl to by there games because it sounded cool and kids would eat it up and they did
