*Some minor spoilers invovled*
Well here I am with the age old question, triss or shani? I like Shani but Geralt never says he truly loves her i noticed, Triss however Geralt says in the game he loves with all his heart at endgame. I would like to choose Triss but i get the feeling she may be evil as hell(the mirror scene), plus shes neglects Alvin. But I may be wrong, in the game footage from the second game it looks like she makes some sacrifices for him. So who should I choose, i perfer triss but if she's evil, i dont want to end up having to go back and load a save before a chose triss or shani. What are your opinions? Triss or shani? And is Triss evil?

1. Triss is not evil. She's a member of the Lodge of Sorceresses, a group prone to secrecy. She is otherwise devoted to Geralt, and betrayed the Lodge once before to help Geralt out.
2. She doesn't neglect Alvin. Sorcerors and sorceresses are brought up under strict supervision and discipline. Some of the way Triss was brought up is mirrored in how she is trying to bring up Alvin.
3. The choice is yours. But Triss has made sacrifices before for Geralt and it can be assumed the Devs will assign her a greater role than Shani in the future. As such, my choice would be Triss, though I find Shani far more likeable. That, again, is my personal opinion and nothing more.
In suspended animation.

What Vilgefortze said, except that I really like Triss. It's not that she's evil so much as that she's a bit of a mess. In a certain sense, she has all of Geralt's identity problems without having amnesia as an excuse. As far as the narrative goes, she plays politics without being quite ruthless enough for it, which makes for all kinds of interesting trouble.

Shani is much more stable. She's what you would want a doctor to be: absolutely dedicated to patient welfare and a genuinely nice person (despite a tendency to shrillness). It's just that what you see is what you get, and that's all.

Both romances make for a good game--try one, then try other on your next playthrough. Triss is my preference. She seems to be more like Geralt--magical, an outsider at the heart of things. She also knows the witchers well and is an ally of sorts. Lambert might disagree, of course. ;)

If it helps at all the way I came to my decision on Shani for my first play through.

I find Triss and Geralt to be a more canonized relationship. That said I prefer Shani's personality most the time; Triss really isn't bad though.

I chose Shani mainly because up until I had the choice; I was wooing Shani pretty heavily. Bringing her red roses to her party, bringing a guest that wouldn't make a fuss saying the things she wanted to hear etc...

It felt weird to when the story began have a little something that is largely unspoken with Triss at Morhen then woo Shani then go back to Triss.

Second go around I'll just be polite to Shani and keep Triss at heart.

When I chose Triss, she dissapeared after I had talked to Shani, can anyone help?

*I don't want to choose Shani so that's not an option*

Unless there's a bug, Triss may be in two places, depending on the hour of the day: her house, or the New Narakort inn.

Sometimes, if you didn't drink the cat potion, you can spot her in her house because it's a little darl. Try to press Alt button to highlithed usable items and characters. You will see her soon.

PS:Depending on the hour of the day, she can be in her bedroom or in the living room. She is a lazy girl, she slips until 10-11 AM but at 12 you can find her in downstairs with Alvin.

Problem solved, it was a bug that placed her in a wall. I found her using De Vries' Extract.
Thank you.

*chuckle*  Good one!

Want to be IN a computer game? I'm making one, and I want a picture of you! See here for details.

I've made three new adventures for TW1; you can get them at corylea.com/.

I've also made a bunch of mods that fix bugs, kill annoyances or tweak gameplay; you can get those at the Witcher Nexus.

I chose Shani. Mainly because I simply prefer her appearance, but also because the kid could potentially lead a more normal life with a normal woman rather than this all-powerful sorceress. That was my thinking at the time, anyway. Looking back having played TW2, it may be better just to choose Triss simply because Shani's entire existence seems to be ignored in TW2. It seems like they could actually have just had Shani as a medic with the Blue Stripes and there'd have been no need for Ves then. They even have a similar appearance, especially given how the other characters changed between the two games.

Just started playing witcher 1 after I played witcher 2 liked that one so decided to play this one actually like witcher 1 better personally graphics arn't as good but the game-play I think is funner anyhow second play-through and think I'll pick Shani picked Triss the first play-through was worried my first play-through thought it might affect the story or some quests or witcher 2 uploading your save game in someway but it doesn't just a frustrating personal choice. Hate being forced to make a choice like this especially when your options are extremely limited wouldn't be so bad if you didn't completely alienate the other person or group like the Squirrels or Order the rest of the game and there was some way to least still be able to talk to the other party and maybe regain there trust. P.S. I'm with the squirrels this play-through since I was with the order first play-through and found out they were behind everything probably be the same this time but the squirrels at fault guess I'll find out. Anyhow back to Triss or Shani I mean why can't I choose option 3 and just kill the kid and tell them sry I was late the bandits did it but don't worry they got there just deserves that way you don't have to chose either of them and kinda seem the hero for avenging him atleast for the time being until they put two and two together ; you'd have to chose Shani then though since Triss can read your mind and Shani is overly trusting. Or option four whisk him away to the swamp and tell Vaska you found her lost child in her state of mind doubt she would be able to tell the difference or Gramps no one would ever find him there and he'd be safe until he became a adult at least because Gramps doesn't consume children. So many other options you could come up with that would be more witcher neutral so to speak then just two dead set black or white options. Or if nothing else be able to make them see reason like Shani would be the better mother but with his dangerous magic abilities Triss would be the better option to keep him and every one around him safe. Anyways this is my long drawn out two cents ^^
