My computer was fixed today, and the first thing I'm doing with it is trying to fix your game. Be happy. :-)
Whoa. I've looked at your saved game, and I don't know how you ever made it to Chapter 5! According to your quest log, there's a crucial quest where you're still in Chapter 3.
Did you wipe out the Salamandra guys in the Sewers in Chapter 3?
Did you kill the Professor in the Kickimore Queen's Cave at the end of chapter 3?
Did you find out that it was Princess Adda who was behind Salamandra?
Did Triss teleport you to the village of Murky Waters?
If you're in Chapter 5, I assume that you've done all that, but your quest log thinks that you haven't yet, which is why things aren't working right for you in Chapter 5.
I think I can construct a workaround for you, forcing the game to advance past those old stages. But, uh, you DID do them, right? You really need to have killed the Professor and found out about Adda for everything to make sense and be emotionally satisfying and all.
Thanks, Villgefortze, for the tip about the conversation with DeWett. The conversation with DeWett isn't working right because there are so many things that were supposed to happen before then, but your pointing out that conversation was the clue that let me figure out where the problem lay.
ssssssssssssssss
please please help me...

Want to be IN a computer game? I'm making one, and I want a picture of you! See here for details.
I've made three new adventures for TW1; you can get them at corylea.com/.
I've also made a bunch of mods that fix bugs, kill annoyances or tweak gameplay; you can get those at the Witcher Nexus.

Okay, Troyzer, I've fixed your game. It was a mess. :-) To make it work, you'll need both the saved game I've uploaded here, and the files in the Override folder I'm giving you. The Override folder goes in your The Witcher Enhanced Edition\Data folder, just unzip the Override folder into that directory.
The saved game folder also has to be unzipped, and of course it goes in your The Witcher\saves folder.
Remember to unzip both of these!
Once you've started up your saved game, go to your quest items inventory. (Remember that it scrolls back and forth.) There will be two scrolls in your quest items inventory, one called Game Forcer One and the other called Game Forcer Two. As soon as the game starts up, before you've taken a step or talked to anyone, read Game Forcer One. It will update and complete a quest, then give you a batch of updates for one quest and a batch of updates for another quest. Once all of the updates are completed, then read Game Forcer Two. It will give you a smaller set of updates.
Once you've finished reading both Game Forcer scrolls, just walk forward. DeWett will approach you and talk to you, and this time, you won't be able to walk past him without fighting. You were never supposed to be able to do that, but you were never supposed to have gotten here without having completed some of the things that you didn't complete, so the game was in a strange state.
Once you've killed DeWett and looted the bodies, you can go on to the Old Manor. This time, as soon as you climb the hill, there'll be a conversation with Azar Javed and Rayla. She'll be hostile at the end of the conversation, and you'll need to kill her. She's fairly tough, so you might want to cook up some Swallow at the fireplace at the bottom of the hill -- I noticed that you don't have any. :-)
I haven't played this new saved game to the end, so I can't say for sure, but I THINK you should be all set now.
You've probably had some strange conversations at the end of Chapter 3 and the beginning of Chapter 5, because many of the lines the characters say are the thing that updates a quest. If a prerequisite for that stage of the quest hasn't been met, the dialogue line doesn't appear -- this is why DeWett wasn't attacking you -- and many of the conversations will end prematurely. So you may not have had the best experience of The Witcher -- things hang together better and make more sense than it may have appeared. :-)
The thing that seems to be what caused you to become so stuck was not talking to Jethro after killing Gellert during Chapter 3. Lots of other stuff isn't supposed to be able to happen if you haven't finished that, so I'm not sure how you even GOT to Chapter 5. Kudos on a dubious achievement. :-)
Oh, and before you call me "man" one more time, I'm a woman. :-)
Have fun! I hope you have no more trouble from here on out.

Good for you Troyzer. I knew something was wrong with your journal when killing De Wett did not add any entry, and you could bypass him completely. Hopefully you'll run into no more trouble with the game.
Great job Corylea. :) I had no idea the Djinni could do so much. Maybe I'll learn to use it after all. :)

Yay! I'm glad you're going to be able to finish the game.
damn its amazing the speech options in my game are crazy i was able to talk to reyla.
That's why I warned you that you'd been missing a lot of dialogue options in the game, ever since the middle of Chapter 3. You might want to go back to Chapter 3 at some point and see all that. But hell, you'll probably just play again from the beginning, like most of us. :-)
not the epic hard battle i was hopeing for lol
What difficulty level are you playing on? If it's easy or medium, Flash has a mod that allows you to buy a potion to change the difficulty level. But then, you have the Koshchey in your future; you may not want the game to be harder. :-)
damn thank you again everyone especially Corylea
You're welcome! It's nice to see you so happy; that makes my day.
its great to finally be able to beat the game!
I don't think this is a game you "beat;" this is a game you experience. :-)
i will report back with an update on how the rest of the game goes!
I hope that you will have no more problems! As far as I know, I've forced your game past all of the stuck points, so it should play normally from now on. *crosses fingers*
thanks again you made my day!and extra thanks for all the hard work Corylea really appreciate it.

You're welcome. It took me about three hours, between tracking down the problem, making the fix and testing the fix, so it took a good chunk of time. But it's worth it to see you so happy.

You certainly can! Most of us here have played several times. The good thing about The Witcher is that it's a fabulous game. The bad thing about The Witcher is that it makes it harder to play mediocre games after having seen it. I get halfway through a ho-hum game and think, "Maybe I'll just go play The Witcher again." You have been warned. :-)
sorry if im being a ****** but is my game the same like my choices etc hopeing to use this save game for the witcher 2 even if its not i just want to finish it to see the ending.
I didn't alter any of your choices, so as far as I know, they should all still be there. BUT your saved game has been opened by the Saved Game Editor, and I have no idea what effect that might have when attempting to import a saved game. None of us has even seen The Witcher 2, so nobody knows if opening one's game in the Saved Game Editor will make any difference or not. I'm hoping not. Still, there are other good reasons to play TW1 again.... :-)
thanks again for fixing it id love to offer you something but i dont have much if you have a paypal or something i will throw you a few $ for helping me with this
It's sweet of you to offer that, but no, I don't have Paypal. I do this because I'm madly in love with The Witcher, and I want everyone else to be able to love the game, too. When you enjoy the game, I am repaid. :-)

Please do! We could use more of us Djinni-wielders out here. All you need to do is spend one or two thousand hours making a new adventure, and you'll be all set. :-) But seriously, the secret is -- MAKING games is the best game of all!

Yes, it certainly does! Welcome, my dear, to the League of Crazed Witcher Fans. :-)
Oh, and you do know that there are two little games that came with the Enhanced Edition, right? CDPR made two small adventures, one called "The Price of Neutrality" and one called "Side Effects." They aren't anywhere near as wonderful as the main game, but "The Price of Neutrality" lets you see Vesemir, Eskel, and Lambert again, and since lots of us really liked them, it's worth playing just to see them.
There are also some fan-made adventures, including my own small adventure. None of them are anything as cool as the main game, of course, but they're ways to have more time with Geralt and his world after you've finished the main game.

I didn't think it was terrible -- I liked it, actually -- but I thought it was nowhere near as good as The Witcher. Dragon Age gets all the attention because Bioware is famous, but really, The Witcher is a much better game. I felt like I killed the same set of six darkspawn eight thousand times. And having the main character's lines be unvoiced meant that the player character felt like a cipher. Geralt is so much of a person that it's hard to go from that to being two-dimensional.
