This is my first play through and I'm doing the neutral path, but the "A Magic Formula" quest seems bugged to me, I'm in the swamp cemetery crypt by the Wayfarer's Stone and in the quest log I am told to use the spells: Aard, Igni, Aard - I have tried this and nothing happens apart from being told to try a different combination, I read a bit and found some advice telling me to use other combinations like Aard, Aard, Igni - this one worked but it seemed to be a deadend and I got the quest item "St Gregory's Litany" which as far as I can tell does nothing.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, also if I'm forced to skip this quest (I think it's a sidequest) will I miss anything?

I'm such an idiot lol. Ok well I found *another* Wayfarer's Stone very close to the one I made the mistake of using the first time. I guess I should have spent more time looking around nearby before posting, but I was locked in with the Striga at the time and assumed there was only one of these stones (as well as finding another part of the quest in the crypt I just assumed it was all there).

Incase anyone else makes the same mistake as me, I believe the stone in the crypt is for the Order's quest, and the one for the Neutral quest is in the Refugee cave nextdoor to the cemetary.

You believe correctly. kind sir. For the sake of completness, the Wayfarer's stone for the Scoia'tael quest is in the Old Dwarven Mine :)

Also, congratulation on doing things the proper witcher way and staying neutral!
