What a rip :PPP hehehe

so im guessing you can only side with elves after lady of lake if you help them at bank?

All im offered is side with knights (non humans hate you) or no one (everyone hates you)

Ended up sideing with Knights, not cause I really wanted to but once again Elves going to far in their revolt and killing innocents!

LOL, now I hear the knights are killing all non humans in old Visima but im appearently on their side for good!

double blah!

Ahh well, stupid game has started to crash often again (chapter 5) so getting fustrated and calling it a night. Will redo all the elf killing again tommorrow when maybe system will not crash non stop

It IS possible to get the Lady's card, but you have to take one particular conversational path ... one that seems a little risky at first.

Yes.  You aren't locked into siding with whoever you sided with at the bank -- you can still take the neutral path, if you want -- but you ARE locked OUT of siding with the other faction.  After Geralt's actions at the bank, whoever he didn't side with no longer trusts him.

It fascinates me that in the many discussions of which side to take, the non-humans' side is almost always referred to as "the elves," not just by you but by nearly everyone.  What about the dwarves?  The elves are mostly arrogant jerks, but the dwarves seem pretty cool.

You are for this play-through.  But you could play again and take the non-human path or the neutral path and see how that plays out.

Alt-tabbing out of The Witcher seems to make it crash more often, so if you're having trouble in Old Vizima, make sure you don't alt-tab out of the game.  If you need to check your e-mail or something, save and exit.

Want to be IN a computer game? I'm making one, and I want a picture of you! See here for details.

I've made three new adventures for TW1; you can get them at corylea.com/.

I've also made a bunch of mods that fix bugs, kill annoyances or tweak gameplay; you can get those at the Witcher Nexus.

heheh, dwarves are short smelly obnoxious things!
Were as elves are respectable, creative, slender, attractive things!

Of course I ignore the Dwarves! :)

*true Story* In all my years of playing AD&D I only ever made 2 dwarves and both were designed to piss off a freind who had the ATypical dwarf that killed everything and was rude to everyone type character (heheh it suited his personality)

So my first dwarf was called "Headbanger Stonehead" at which my freind offered to DM one night and killed Headbanger 5 minutes into campaign and told me to reroll something other then a Dwarf! LOL

So in a different campaign where Kerry wasnt DM, I rolled up Stout Aledrinker

Stout was a alcoholic that couldnt fight unless drunk (seriously, I would run away and hide and guzzle ale till drunk enough to engage in combat) and his prize possession was a Still he had rigged up in the back of a cover wagon (protected by 4 well trained giant dogs that attacked anyone (including group members) that tried to enter wagon) and he spent a small fortune on having wizards and clerics cast spells of protection on the wagon so noone and nothing could hurt his attempts at brewing (which he was very bad at btw). Stout would often use the parties horses (when they not looking) to test his newest batch of Ale and the horses would all be violently ill the next day forcing everyone to walk.

Kerry got so mad at my protrayal of drawves he refused to play in any campaigns if I was playing a drawf :)

Ahhhhh good times!!!!!! hehehe
