Am getting frustrated with getting the ring. I read the related posts on this board. I cannot find a female beggar who wants Gull, either in the Reverend's village or the 2 villages on the road leading to the village.
Alvin is with the Rev, and I bribed Mikul and the other guy. Odo is apparently unbribable and doewsn't get drunk. I also took care of the drowners.
At what point does the Rev give me the fire ring?
TIA

By reading your post i can't be sure what you 've done so far and what not. Just continue playing, forget about the beggar (if you find her, OK ), talk with everyone and you 'll be fine. Talk with the Reverend and do your quests.
That's all your job.
All the other job is done by the developers, who have made a game which doesn't need walkthroughs.

I went back to an earlier save and talked to eveyone again. I finally got the signet ring. :)
The Rev. said he'd take care of the beast, and he's kidnapped Alvin. The game hasn't progressed beyond that. I just fought echinops at Odos. I'll go back to the Rev and see if the plot progresses anymore.
A walkthrough says I need to find Abigail in a cave somewhere and decide her fate.

Not so fast :)
You should find Alvin first. Talk to Shani, she may have some good advice for you. You're missing this quest

I don't remember from my first playthrough when I was supposed to get this ring. I've talked to the 3 people and sorted out Mikul's quest. Have also talked to the Reverand and tha tutorial about the signet rings came up. He also said something about a way for them to trust me. So I assume he tried to give me the ring. I noticed afterwards I didn't have it, and there is nothing laying where we talked, and no conversation option helps. I may have had a full inventory when I talked to him. Does this mean I have to reload and try again? Damnit.

Have you already placed the ring in the ring slot ?
There are 2 ways to get the ring one is from the reverend and the other is from an old woman whom you can help by giving her a white gull potion for her dying grandson i think

No, I simply don't have it. I think he tried to give it to me because I got the tutorial pop up about signet rings and said something along the lines of "you need something so the others know I sent you". But I suspect my inventory was full so it couldn't fit in there. And sadly there was no ring laying on the ground. So I guess I'm kinda screwed. Will need to replay a bit I suppose, just hope I'm 'lucky' with save spots.
No idea who that woman is. Any easy way to identify her, or will I have to try and fail a lot?

She is in the small area of huts just outside of town . Just talk to all of them as they all look alike and make sure you have plenty of meat as well as a white gull potion. If they won`t talk to you after an initial conversation just enter a hut and come right back out and they will talk to you again

Ugh. Rather fed up of walking around trying to find her now. Been doing it for 2 game days. Do you remember where exactly I can find her? Is it close to where the Reverand is, or somewhere else?
I've been walking around the city in circles for eons now, but all they do is tell me stories or blow me off (no, not like that, that would be weird).

Thanks. I found her in the end actually, when I had given up. Figured I would just try to bribe them instead, which I did for Haren. Then I tried one more time with that bleepin' beggar woman, and this time she finally said the magic words.
Finished the chapter and was on my way to the Inn. Then the map turned black. And we all know what that means.... :(
So now I have to replay a whole lot of stuff, including the Beast (which was quite a tough fight, I was running around in circles just to regain health at one time).
It looks like this is quite normal btw. If you have a full inventory the Reverand won't give you the ring properly. Wish it went straight to a ring spot instead, cause I had nothing there. Or was left on the ground. Or that he had it for later.

I think it does fall to the ground, but it doesn't stay there if you leave the area and come back, which I agree is sub-optimal. Picking up something as small as a ring from off of the ground is difficult; the regular cursor turns to the pick-something-off-of-the-ground cursor only if you're on exactly the right pixel, and lots of people don't even realize that you can pick it up. (For example, I think I was on my second or third play-through before I realized that you can pick up the glass vial that's by Ilsa's body in the crypt.)
