Don't mean to be rude, but that was actually confusing :P/>/>/>

First, he said the object of the riddle exists our world, not just our language. But I'm assuming he means the generic type (i.e. sword).

Well on my understanding, he explained "words of our real world", specifically when I started shooting Ithlinne prophecy and then Nilfgaard.

Second, he said by dawn he meant UNsheathing, and by dusk, sheathing.

Uhmmm.....

Third, I said he probably didn't mean light-weight but I'd give it a shot with the "light sword" :P/>/>/>/>

Again, it's my understanding that light not stands for light sword neither the weight. But related to the sun, fire, ray of light, lux aeterna whatever :D/>
Probably that "darkness" is related with the Dark mode.

Or the dark side of the force, or the dark side of the moon, or... I guess we will never know!

But no really, I also thought it could be related to the dark mode effect, but then unsheathing it would bring darkness, not light or "dawn".

I should at least get partial credit for bringing up Black Unicorn :P

PS: Nice to see you around.

Secondchildren was right :)

@.Volsung. - when I said that it was related to those words, I meant to "war", not to "Niflgardian/Novigrad"
Also, I said that the names exist in our world, not the objects

And yes, you got the meaning now, but where is the problem in unsheating=darkness? It is exactly what I meant in "It's dawn doesn't give light.." XD

Give me the answers now XD

Hmm I see... unsheathing --dawn-- does NOT bring light.

OK so a couple of dark mode swords. I'm going to say Virgin and Black Unicorn.

No, try again :P

Chose the two ones that are related with "war effects on people" and you will have the complete answer: you will find also that the riddle suits well also those two names (if you read dawn=beginning, light=happiness, etc) :)

*Sigh* Weeper and Mourner?

Sorry if I'm not making much sense. I'm tired, it has been a long day.

Sorry for the delay. Got a few things going on.

The riddle:

In vain I tried to drive away
the mighty threat that doomed us all.
I planned ahead and in the end
my plan and I, both took the fall.

How come it worked in years past?
And not a minute could I last?

Long hours I worked, until I watched
my great creation, shimmering at night.
Wretched sages, they assured me:
it would suffice with just one bite!

Good reasoning, but no :)

Keep trying! There are subtle hints in there already.

Could it be Philippa Eilhart?
The last sentence made me think to the dragon :)

Good guess, I can see why you would come up with that. But no.

There are more subtle hints in the text that might steer you in the right direction :)
