Are you in Act1? I think there is named Ghoul in the crypt but you can only get to him after you did a quest for the city guard (his named lost me)

I found one alghoul in the graveyard at night and one alghoul in the graveyard crypt.

However i cant find a third alghoul, and its really starting to annoy the heck outta me.  :'(

Hi Sunk,

I had the same problem with Alghouls, the trick is to sleep at a fireplace in the swamp, having slept until midnight at one of the camp fires i awoke to find 3 alghouls attacking me.

The fireplace (not sure it matters which one you use) was near a fallen down tree with a corpse next to it.

Hope this helps

Great, I will also try it later today.
I think this is a very important quest to gain favour with Kelstein the Alchemist.

This is THE quest to gain favour with him right? I'm currently a little stuck with the Mages Tower quest.

One has to get used to spending gold on books. They're needed for quests.

But anyway, rest, try the graveyard the next day. Most of these mobs respawn after a while.

You can also try the fireplace NORTH, of the brickmakers village. There is a "hunter" corpse and a female corpse near. Meditate there until midnight. I found 3 Ghouls, and 3 Alghouls attacking me.

The quest has nothing to do with gaining favour from kalkstein, and if I remember correctly I only submitted that quest in Act III anyways, so fret not my friends, there shall be many alghouls in your journey inbetween plowing women.... or err killing the salamandar, saving mother earth or whatever Geralt is suppose to do.

I'm in Act III currently and I only did this quest just a couple of nights ago, mainly because I didn't get around to buying the book until then. I just went to the graveyard in the crypt and did the alghoul quest and the Velerad contracts in one fell swoop.

I'm having trouble with this quest.

I cannot, for the life of me, after spending at least 7 real-life hours, find any more Alghouls. All above suggestions have been tried. And tried again. And again. I'm half way through chapter 3 and so far i have visited every previously-visited location in the game, as far back as i can go, and there are no more Alghouls. Indeed, most monsters have stopped respawning altogether. Is there even a respawn system in this game? The only mobs i see respawning are waves of Drowners and Drowned Dead in the swamp, as well as Echinops and Archespore there. I've been through the graveyard, the graveyard crypt, the 2 crypts in the sewer, every abandoned house, all over the swamp, meditating at each and every fireplace in each of those locations several times usually spending a full in-game week in each place. No mobs are respawning, not even normal Ghouls or Cemetaurs or Graveirs.

I did kill a few Alghouls in chapter 2 before i had the book with the information on the bone marrow, so i couldn't harvest it. So is there simply no respawn on this enemy? That would make no sense, so i'd assume i have a glitch of some kind?

Help. :]

One of the best ways I learned to get Alghoul's Blood is to get yourself the Finders Keepers quest from the Con Man.

SPOILER***
To meet the Con Man go to the Main Sewer Entrance in Old Vizima at 7AM.  He should be there or in the vicinity.
Once you speak with him....he will give you a quest to find lost valuables in the sewer, mainly he needs a family heirloom ring.  He will direct you to find a secret Crypt in the sewer.  This Crypt is easy to find.  Its the first Porticle Gate next to the Sewer Entrance you come through when entering the sewer.
From there its a Gravier and Algoul Party.  Who will be able to clean up on all 3 contracts in a cinch.  Caveat....you will need Cat, Swallow, Tawny, White Raffords, and Some Necrophage oil.  I used Yarden as well.
There are more than a dozen Alghouls and Graviers in there.  One room in paticular they will keep respawning for a long time before your able to take a breath.

-Cheers!

That's one of the 2 crypts in the sewer that, as i said, i cleared out already, I actually done that quest in chapter 2. I came across a single alghoul in there, in the room on the left at the start, but it's never respawned since i have the book with the info on what to harvest.

I may just have to leave this quest unfinished :(

Sorry man,  ???

That blows....When I hit that quest...I was in chapter 3.  And they had
hordes of algouls and Graveirs in that Crypt.

The only other spot that I know of... happened in the swamp at
night by the fallen tower hording around the firewood.  It only seems to happen once though.  The next night they were all gone.  There was a combination of alghouls, cemetars, and 1 Gravier...  I had to pull them 1 at a time.

I also gave up on Archespore juice.....but was able to nail the other contracts near the end of chapter 3.  Good Luck...

Heh, i have an unlimited supply of archspores spawning in the Swamp. It must vary depending on... i don't know... maybe decisions or something.

On a brighter note, i done the quest "six feet under" in chapter 3 which is where Siegfrid asks you to go and take care of a ghoul in the cemetary, which turns out to be a talking ghoul, can't remember his name. Anyway, if you decide to spare the ghoul's life, then spare the lives of the elves you meet next, then rescure the people in the crypt, there are a bunch of mobs that attack you including 2 Alghouls.

One more to go!

Well this figures. Finished chapter 3 without having come across another Alghoul, so i thought oh well i'm bound to come across one sooner or later so i'll hang on to the 2 that i have.

But wait a minute, i'm now in the Lakeside, i'm not even sure if i will see Kalkstein again.

Anyway, being an optimist i continue the game, when lo and behold! right inside the Crypt in the Fields map i come across nothing less but a live, fighting, real life Alghoul. HURRAY. Killing the mob, i harvest the 3rd and final bone marrow, breathe a sigh of relief, and... wait a second... why hasn't the notice come up informing me that i have collected 3 bone marrows and i should return them to Kalkstein?

I check the quest log, and what do you know, the quest isn't even there. It was obviously wiped off as unfinished at the end of chapter 3. Now that i no longer have any use for it, the game proceeds to spawn at least 20 to 25 Alghouls while i'm in that crypt, as well as legions of Devourers, Graveis, Cemetaurs and just about every other mob i was looking for earlier in the game. Good job, Projekt, fucking good job.

You'll see Kalkstein again in the next chapter, but yeah, if you don't do that quest by the end of act 3, it gets put in the "undone" category. I had a lot of 'undone' quests my first play through because I didnt have the required knowledge at the right time.
