I want to complete the ghoul contract, but the Journal says I need to have a ghoul entry in my Bestiary. Where can I find this info? Do I also need this entry before cleaning out the crypt for Mikul?

From the "Full Witcher Guide" sticky:

On the announcement board (M5.3) there’s a note. When you read it, you’ll know that Kalkstein need three portions of 3 Ghouls. First you need an entry in Bestiary on Ghouls. You can get it from old women (M5.16, M5.18, M5.20) if you give them something to eat (for example bread) and say that you want to hear their story.

You also can buy a book about those creatures (in the tavern is a guy selling books) and read it, then you get the entries. It is easier to solve that quest when you have the entry before you enter, but you might meet ghouls at night in the outskirts.

You need the Ghoul entry so that you can extract from their carcaces, the skinabble itens. In this case the ghoul blood

You should use every occasion to talk to NPCs, some of them give you valuable info and you don't need to spend lots of Orens on books & scrolls

cheers
I can see what you see not, Visions milky then eyes rot.
When you turn they will be gone, whispering their hidden song.
Then you see what cannot be, shadows move where light should be.
Out of darkness, out of mind – cast down into the Halls of the Blind…
