Greetings to all my forum folk!  Have not been needing any asst for a while which im happy to report and have come to the last Act, I believe.  For some wild reason, I thought there were 10! imagine my disappointment when i found out there were five and I was in the last one - like a good book coming to an end...i feel the sadness approaching, truly!  Anyhow, I am here once again to request advice, direction...help.  ::) Im sure youve been this way at least 1x (most of you) if not on your 3rd...my question - Ive advanced to the Swamp beyond the burning city of Old Vizima in I believe, Act 5...just spoke to the non-humans who are heading for cover in a cave...decided to pursue Quest to locate the extra pcs of Raven's Armor (got 1 pc already in Act IV) and the other gizmo needed in addition to some notes etc.  Im supposed to [spoiler]enter the Old Mine, Aard a stone and Igni it  set on fire? anyhow, there is an Elemental Stone in Mine which doesnt work when clicked on and it has a name - thinking wow, this is a first I tiried to even Aard & Igni the Elemental Stone which was after searching all walls of this same cave it didnt work and neither did the Aarding of any rubble blocking any openings or what appears to be an opening.  All I can think of is there another Mine in the Swamp, my map says no.  There must be some step Im not performing prior to getting to the stone - however, I cannot even locate the stone the Journal states is in the Mine which I can remove to access the Elven blah blah blah to get to these items and complete the Quest-some hints or direction, again, many thanks!!!

You need to cast Igni-Igni-Aard on the Wayfarers' stone then you are teleported into the ancient crypt and find the [ ... ] recirculator for the Elven version of Raven's armor... after you defeated the monsters there

Thanks Petra! Youre the best...always right on the money (a saying we have in the USA) I decided to pay you an Oren in appreciation...the least I could do, hope you are able to read my msg as to why you deserve it.  No offense to all the others who are very knowledgable and experienced.  Game Widow and her Wiki, appropriate to a librarian - love the Catwoman-like (think of Michelle Pfeiffer) avatar.  I want to upload something fun and mythical like a flying dragon or something. Chuckles is also quite helpful and has quite a few posts...felt like I was being folloowed sometimes early on answering my questions in various categories (in a good way) not stalker, made me wonder if folks look for fledglings to help to increase their posting number and rewards, if people are curious enough to figure out how to reward-i just learned tonite - thought i would be going to Paypal or somethin' hey! who knows right?  ;D  Figured USD is probably more desirable than Oren, however w/our sad US economy, Orens are probably more valuable! Ha Ha Ha

Thanks again Petra!

Youre welcome - both of you. Id reply in German but dont know the language...I do have a very nice old German Hymn book from turn of the century...i love the history and old English even.  A friend told me yesterday there was such a thing as Middle English...who knew?  She spoke it with an interesting almost Dutch sounding accent.  Do you know anything about this Game Widow?  I believe both you and Petra are German or atleast citizens of the country.  Here in the USA, we are a mix of everything!  I find that in my reading of Celtic history - i like very old stuff too, there are many interesting cross-overs w/the non-humans...makes one wonder how much research was done in t this culture prior and of the old pagan religions fof th Druids and such plus all of the folklore such as ferries and so forth.  Very good being the game is designed by Poles...what are your thoughts on this?  Game Widow, you have created quite the Wiki on the Witcher.  Petra you are Moderatr supreme....you must both have quite a bit of knowledge on this game, its origins, the people behind its design, the author who writes the stories on Geralt, etc.  I am amazed of the following.  My sister who is 53 yo heading towards 54 laughs at me and says that game is for young boys!  Why do you play it, Geralt is your altar ego!  I just smile...and think hmmm, altar ego - maybe so.  But for young boys only, I dont think so!  After all, we are 47-48.6 yo (im the old ne of the trio here) and I think we are having a great time and quite good at what we do!!!  So ladies out there, enjoy Geralt and this game...its not about gender or age, its about something more nobler than ourselves....

Game Widow is Canadian. ;)

Of course there's Middle English; this is, er, quite well-known.  You might want to read up on it if the history of language interests you.

Want to be IN a computer game? I'm making one, and I want a picture of you! See here for details.

I've made three new adventures for TW1; you can get them at corylea.com/.

I've also made a bunch of mods that fix bugs, kill annoyances or tweak gameplay; you can get those at the Witcher Nexus.

yep, i'm a canuck, french canadian to be exact (although i really live in english)  ;D  so being french does give me one advantage over english-only fans, in that i can read the french editions of the books which are coming out more quickly :D

... and i had never heard of the witcher until my husband came home with the game in december of 2007.

at first i thought "wtf?? i can't create my character? this sucks!"  :D ... of course, i wouldn't have it any other way now.

Also, while i did edit most of the content on the witcher wiki, i did not create the wiki, that was Ausir  ... but i must confess i did lead a friendly coup and kinda wrestled it away from him.

cheers!

I can't really say why I love this game… maybe it's because The Witcher sets a new fresh course to the fantasy genre. It has magic, medieval content, elves and dwarfes but with attitudes and issues of our realistic world and presence. There are evil forces in the Witcherworld but not like the mainstream topics… "one brave hero saves the world from the evil – he will be immortalised in the hall of fame". Geralt is not a shiny hero… he is "just" the main character.
I know Ausir as well, he asked me to work on the German Witcher wiki shortly when the game was released. I wasn't thrilled of this idea because I wanted to play the game instead of writing (boring) articles for a wiki. Meanwhile I have changed my mind… regarding the wiki.

Yah, go on and write it Petra.  Fit it in between your gaming and moderating.  I agree w/Game Widow, they would be quite appreciative.  I agree with you on Geralts status of "main character" but they do give him a kind of dual status: regular male...and at same time, super-hero...i think of Clark Kent and Superman here in the USA - only he doesnt come from Krypton or fly or see through walls...but he does have superhuman powers but they are gotten from chemicals...he does not have them innately.  He can wish for a partner and a family but cannot create a child due to sterility. He can fall in love however.  Conflicts seem to be a major theme and this is also true of humans.  He isnt considered non-human or human by humans...so who is he?  Whats nice is that we can decide that in our choices for him...he can be very human and even unethical and a perv.  Or he can shun the prostitues and refuse jobs for thugs and be a good person indeed...Im going to play him as both and see what the outcomes will be and how much they contrast.  In my first try here, he was practically a holy man...
