does anyone know the easiest way to defeat the mass of wraths that come at you when you approach Raven's tombstone thingy
they keep using blinding or something which stuns me for about 10 seconds and that kills me

as with any fight, preparation is key

have you taken a swallow potion? are you using your fast silver style (since these guys like to attack in groups) ? is your silver sword suitably enhanced ?

wraiths are specters, so you can use specter oil on your blade, or argentia (nice non-specific enhancer for silver -- my personal favourite), temporary runes (like svarog, vodon or perun) or even diamond dust (whetstones, grindstones -- anything you have the gives you a bit of a boost).

igni works against them ... and remember your space bar! you can pause your combat and evaluate what you want to do next.

another good tip is to cast quen before you meet them, then at least you get the first blow in because you are protected by your "sphere of protection"  :peace:

... and i don't wanna spoil things for you, but there are tougher monsters than that waiting for you  ;D

Does anyone else like the old Witcher armors much more? I think Raven's armor looks kinda ridiculous, like a jumpsuit..

Maybe you can choose an other path on your next playthrough to get another design of Raven's armour, there are three  ;)

@Jerry
There is a Circle of Inner Fire in Raven's crypt, a buff for Igni, very helpful against the whraith. You can also use Argentia oil on your blade whch increase the silver damage as there are more creatures in the crypt which are suspectible to silver.
I can see what you see not, Visions milky then eyes rot.
When you turn they will be gone, whispering their hidden song.
Then you see what cannot be, shadows move where light should be.
Out of darkness, out of mind – cast down into the Halls of the Blind…

Yeah, I know, I took the neutral path and IMO it looks best of the three.. but I dislike the whole design.

Don't worry... seems Geralt doesn't like Raven's armor either because in all other adventures (premium and community) he wears his excellent leather jacket again

The Hermit gives you a wrath repelling sack of salt, put this in one of your ring slots and they don't mob you.I usually drop a Yarden at a narrow entrance put the salt back in inventory and lure one or two into the Yarden and Igni them. If you get alot of em after you Quien or run away and put the salt back in the ring slot.I also have worn several of them down with the Igin and Yarden sack in inventory then jumped in with group silver and spector oil, use fast style if one on one.

I think the armor looks really, really, really silly... only potions place looks convenient for the witcher, but Geralt's looks cooler.
Also, the armor looks like a spiky jungle walnut covering that Crusoe would put on.

You're right. 100%, but no-one wants to go on without maximum upgrades, so the stats are the stuff attracting us all.

Yeah, and I thought I'd give it a try because of the stats.. and then I couldn't go back to my old armor anymore. I just weeped when I saw Geralt with the cool armor in the art.

Why couldn't you go back to the old armor? Just take of Raven's armor and buy the other from the seller in the burning town. If you still could not... then I suggest loading an armorer mod for your pleasure. I think the witcher wiki provided one, though it might be expired. Can't check now...
As for weeping, the movie scenes and pictorials are designed for that. They simply make it seem as though Geralt's armor may also go down in history as legendary. But who knows suck things? I can only guess since he is famous, his personal rags will develop some fame along the way too.  :peace:

This isn't TW2 but the console version of the PC game, it just has an other title, but gamestory, quests, chars, location, etc. are the same. Unluckily the production of RotWW is suspended, look here.

I read this, and many other similar articles which were way too opinionated. I see this game (RotWW) as an opportunity to expand on the Witchers world, BUT!!!! I hate it being advertised as non-pc.
I think that that is the part I hate the most. Does anyone think it could be released on a different medium? Anyways, hope the saga continues.  :peace:

Er, Rise of the White Wolf is the same game you've just played, with the combat changed to work better with console controls (and with the expectations of console gamers).  It has the same story as the PC The Witcher, so if you want the saga to continue, what you want is The Witcher 2, which is still just a fan dream, as far as official announcements go.

Want to be IN a computer game? I'm making one, and I want a picture of you! See here for details.

I've made three new adventures for TW1; you can get them at corylea.com/.

I've also made a bunch of mods that fix bugs, kill annoyances or tweak gameplay; you can get those at the Witcher Nexus.
