Fighting A.J. wasn't overly difficult for me, tricky yes but at level 40 there isn't too much putting up a fight anymore. I like to think my potion usage and talent placements help, heh.

Anyway, just a friendly warning to folks about a potential faux pas that can take place not only in this fight but in others.
A.J. is burning, flat on his back with a sliver of life left, right on the edge of the encircling moat. Instead of a finishing sword stroke, I nailed him with Igni one last time.
I thought I incinerated the old fool and he had nothing on him.

So, I get to town MUCH later and decide to nap and make myself a nice kochkey heart drink.
Um, no recipe in my list.Well, guess what happened to old tatoo face...
I had no intentions of doing everything over but after saving, loaded the old save I made right after I killed him to see if there was something on the ground I missed.
Well, not exactly. Searched the area and then looked into the moat,
Yup, blew his butt right into the moat and with it my Kochkey recipe and whatever else he was carrying!
Just too funny for words, there he was, spread eagle on the bottom with a hell of a stunned look on his face. (A.J. sleeps with the fishes).
I'll live without the recipe.

So, moral of the story is, be careful near cliffs and pits when using Aard and Igni for they toss bodies too.

Well you can get it from witcher wikiahttp://witcher.wikia...shchey%27s_Core
Koshchey's Core

"By using the heart of a koshchey - a legendary alchemical component - a witcher can create a powerful potion which deepens the process of mutation begun during the Trial of the Grasses."

When imbibed, Koshchey's Core, a mutagenic potion, adds one Gold Talent, which can be used to acquire enhancements.
Preparation Base Duration Toxicity
Koshchey heart

The potion is made by mixing a koshchey's heart with ingredients providing one measure of Aether and two measures of Hydragenum

I remember killing him on the little bridge and his corpse finished in the water. I didn't get the formula either. :p

Night Hunter, great info for others, thanks for posting.
Personally, I went on and finished the game that night and at level 40, as I mentioned, nothing could really hurt me. I even stopped drinking potions to prolong the fight and had 3 umused silver and two unused gold talents unspent (all this on NORMAL, folks).
Even the final couple of fights were a blink. So no, I didn't need the potion at such a high level.
As I mentioned in a previous post, I had a hard time NOT levelling up because I was having so much fun. I think that's a good thing.
I was grinding without conciously grinding even.

Fave critter - Fleders. LOVE their attack style and that eerie go for the throat when stunned attack, creeped the hell out of me. Fought hundreds just to get the shivers, heh heh.
The list of THINGS I LOVE about this game is a long one. We are SO lucky to have it, here, in our own house, to play whenever we want.....

I also blew Javed off the edge, but his stuff was still retrievable anyway.  I guess I was just lucky.

I thought it was weird that Igni worked against him.  Isn't he a fire mage?  Oh, well.

Want to be IN a computer game? I'm making one, and I want a picture of you! See here for details.

I've made three new adventures for TW1; you can get them at corylea.com/.

I've also made a bunch of mods that fix bugs, kill annoyances or tweak gameplay; you can get those at the Witcher Nexus.

Well look at this journal entry :
The power used to cast spells is drawn from the elements. Fire is the best but simultaneously most dangerous elemental source. Mages who specialize in the magic of fire often achieve great power, but they pay a price for it: as fire addicts, they often suffer burns or even die engulfed in flames. The essence of fire becomes their essence, which makes them vulnerable to water."
So yes fire mages can be burned out, sadly even igni lvl 5 and other stuff put to maximum works poorely on Javad, more useful Aerd and sword :)
