[ACT IV] Abigail's Dialogue

21.04.2009 @ 00:52 #1

Hi guys  :)

Is it just me, or does Abigail seem a bit “testy” whenever Geralt opens a dialogue with her in Chapter IV?  I mean she sounds like he's about ready to give her a root canal or something.  After all, she wouldn't even be there (and alive) if Geralt hadn't saved her from being “roasted” by the mob in the Outskirts.  So, you would think she would sound a little nicer to him. Maybe Geralt's “performance” in the cave wasn't good enough for her or something.  :o Anyway, just wondering if anyone else felt the same.

Ciao,
“Q”

Never trust a witch

Maybe she doesn't want to commit herself to Geralt… or anybody. And maybe there was a tone in his voice which make her think he wants to continue their relationship.

I can see what you see not, Visions milky then eyes rot.
When you turn they will be gone, whispering their hidden song.
Then you see what cannot be, shadows move where light should be.
Out of darkness, out of mind – cast down into the Halls of the Blind…

I can certainly vouch for the fact that it is not *just you* :D ... several people have speculated about her reception of Geralt after their history in the village  :peace:

I never truly noticed.  I will keep my ear out when I finally move on to Act IV.  I can't do so yet, because I haven't finished my "potion collecting" yet.
It never fails - whenever I play another round, I still end up brewing huge quantities of potions, oils and bombs.  :wall:  Its a bad addiction, isn't it fellow "brewers"?  ;D

Yes, Abigail does seem kind of pensive toward Geralt. I thought it is probably just that, that she wants to keep a healthy distance between him and herself, not to fall for him to put it blantly ;) - besides, he does kind of suggest that they'd fool around again, and she probably knows that's all it's gonna be anyway with him. And she does seem the independent type, so why to get more involved with a man with whom you already had your fun with?  ;)

If both enjoyed it they can do it once again... as long as no-one gets possessive towards the other one  ;)

Someone suggested in this forum somewhere, that Abigail offered herself to Geralt only to save herself. Maybe that is why she is not so overly enthusiastic to do it again?

I think it's a way how you interpret it. Abigail helped Geralt with Alvin, she takes the boy because Shani can't take care of him. There a sort of good relationship between them. And... in the cave, Geralt approaches her and asks her to get to know her closer  ;) ... in such a weird situation

Not me, I read it from the forums somewhere. ;) I thought it was as solid explanation as any.

Yes, you will meet her again, and yes, she will be useful. ;)  I was happy to see that she was having a much better life in Murky Waters than she'd had in the Outskirts and seemed a lot less bitter.

Want to be IN a computer game? I'm making one, and I want a picture of you! See here for details.

I've made three new adventures for TW1; you can get them at corylea.com/.

I've also made a bunch of mods that fix bugs, kill annoyances or tweak gameplay; you can get those at the Witcher Nexus.
