After having left the castle shortly after starting Chapter V, is it possible to return to it  to speak with Antoinette in order to commence the Mud and Velvet quest? Or do you loose out on this quest once you have left the castle without speaking to her?

Oops! so I will basically have to re-do the whole of Act V from the tiome in the castle? is that what you are saying

only if you want to complete that one quest -- it's totally optional, i also forgot to chat her up on my last run  >:( ... but it's not a big deal ... i know 9000 XP seems like a lot, but by act V, it isn't really.

or yes, reload and redo the whole act  :peace:

It is, unfortunately, another example of Act V punishing the noobs to the game.  You should never move on until you have talked to everyone and are sure you have done everything.
But, as game widow has said, the experience points are not really missed - just be sure to take the effort to grind a little in the swamps before continuing on to the Old Manor  ;)

I think the three cousins are a bit insane anyway. When you talk to them the first time they complain about their misery and want to return asap to Toussaint, resp when they receive the money from Antoinette. When you pay them and return some time later, talk to them, they are still there and mourn  :hmmm:

You can visit all ancient caves even if you merely need to explore one for your version of Raven's armor. But you can earn exp from the creatures... don't waste much time on the Drowners, Droned Dead or Bloedzuiger (unless you need the ingredients), they just give you 1 exp point  ;D

You know, I have never been able to make myself lie about the number of cousins found and gain a second mahakaman rune sihill (one of three available if you want to be techical).
I always cave and tell the truth.  Yet another situation where my morality impeeds on experiencing different aspects of the game.  *shrug*  Maybe I'm just too much of a nice guy...

I spoke to Captain Jean Pierre, exactly how quest update point to do, but when I back to caves the three cousin are all  there and ask again about money to go to Toussaint and if I know Antoinnette. This chat seems to me as I did nothing to help them, but the quest is done.

What kind of money is bucks/cousin ?

I noticed the same thing. It must have slipped the devs mind to move cousins from the caves after the quest's done.

Anyway, what the quest log says about the quest? is it completed. Coz If it's so there's nothing more you can do. It's like e-ahmet says:after the quest is completed, no matter how many times you talk to the cousins again, they'll always repeat the same lines. So simply, skip over them and move on with the story :)))

The questlog says the Mud & Velvet quest is finished regardless how you did it. I found it strange as well when I saw the 3 cousins still hanging around in the caves after Geralt delivered the money to them and they repeat the same phrases of dissatisfaction x_O

You know, I felt this quest very dull b´coz money Antoinnete gave to cuisons  is the money Geralt receive back from Captain. Is just to grow in XP points.

Yeah, but at least you can change the course of events, which you can't with other FedEx quests. Well, we won't see such quests in TW2 anymore.
