if you've made it all the way to act iii and you are still unimpressed, then i'd say nothing much else will impress you either

Chapter II demands your gifted skills as a detective and the swamp is a very busy and dangerous place.  ;)
I can see what you see not, Visions milky then eyes rot.
When you turn they will be gone, whispering their hidden song.
Then you see what cannot be, shadows move where light should be.
Out of darkness, out of mind – cast down into the Halls of the Blind…

I was saying exactly the same, but the ending of Act 1 has blown my mind.  And it gets even better after that.  .

The story sucks you in, chews and spits you out.

Yes, the beginnig seems to be unispiring, but wait until your first choices and their consequences. :)

I mean it's not a game to rush through and fulfil your quests and contract. You need to explore things and environment to experience the game  ;)

This game gets more and more epic as the chapters unfold.  Not only does the story suck you in but so does the character.  Geralt gains skills and combat becomes much more interesting and exciting as new moves and animations become unlocked.  I was a little underwhelmed early on but now I can't stop playing.  Revisit this post after you've made it into chapter 3 and tell us what you think.

The story takes time to unfold. It is totally worth it. This is not a FPS. It is an adventure, that is fantastic and inspiring.

I was impressed by the time I was mid-way through Act I.  Although I must admit, I haven't played a lot of RPGs in my time.
Just what exactly doesn't "impress" you?  Is it graphic quality?  Scenery? Plot?  Actual gameplay style?
Be more specific and we can tell you for sure whether it gets better or not.

As others have said, the storyline takes time to unfold, and unlike some games requires close attention to understand it properly (especially those unfamiliar with the Wither world).
I'd say there are bits and pieces of each Act which make them unique.  Acts II and III are the most involving, and quite possibly the most challenging (the swamp is probably the most dangerous area of the game in comparison with monster type vs character level).  The more choices you are forced to make also impacts more on the path of your character too, without going too far off the main quest.

Gameplay does get better as your character progresses.  As you increase you swordsmanship and sign talents, combat is more fluid and a lot more "fun".  The swords available in later Acts make your character look a hell of a lot better than just that simple Witcher's sword.  And since you're not up to Act II yet, you haven't even used the silver sword, which makes monster slaying more than just a chore.

As others have said, wait until you've played up to chapter 3, and then ask yourself whether you are still "unimpressed".

This game grabbed me in the first few minutes and before I knew it three hours had disappeared!!!.

I am mostly an MMO player, so an RPG game was a tough decision for me. I tried Oblivion after hearing "BEST GAME EVER" "AMAZING" "MIND BLOWING", etc. I found it to be an okay game but in no way did it "blow me away." I was looking for that jaw dropping experience in an RPG. I figured it was just me who didn't get it. When I saw such rare reviews for this game, I decided to give it a chance. Sure glad I did. Absolutely amazing!! How can you not like the graphics? Story? Dialogue? Strange to say, I remember someone writing the dialogue was adequate at best. Don't believe it! This story is top notch and will enthrall you if you like games that are story/character driven. I just hope there is lots of play here and the story doesnt end too soon. My problem will be trying to get enough sleep.

Is it too early to ask about a followup? If this game hasnt grabbed you, not sure what to tell you. I believe this is the most underappreciated game out there.

it's got tons of gameplay ... and if you are enjoying it, take your time ... it's very easy to take 60 or more hours for a single playthrough -- yes, you can get through it far more quickly if you rush around, but then you are missing most of what makes the game great  :)

Glad you're enjoying it.

You get out of the game what you put in.  :peace:

As most have mnentioned it is not a game to rush through. Talk to the people, hear what they have to say. Stop in at different times to the locations. Have fun with it and take your time. If you are not into doing that I do not see you likeing the game as the pace does not speed up it only gets more demanding on what you have to do. Good luck.

is it true there are 3 different endings, a good, evil and neutral? who do u side with to get the evil one and is it all based on one choice in final act and nothing before?

It is not really "good" or "evil", that is open to major interpretation.  It is rather neutral path, order of the flaming rose path, or elven path.
It will be based on several choices through the game as to who you will support.  The neutral path may be chosen by a major choice in Act IV, while the other two paths rely on choices made earlier.
