At this point the only thing i can suggest is installing VIRTU and adding the game exe to use the ATI card . The following link will show you how to install and add game exe`s to the VIRTU control panel ,

Sorry about that . I remembered on the way to work that you have Windows 8 and at present the only thing i`ve found is for windows 7 . So do not try and install VIRTU . I`m sure at some point they will release drivers for windows 8 . Yes it will work with your integrated chip and the 5770 . Matter of fact that is what VIRTU was designed for .

I'm trying to run The Witcher on windows 7 64. If i use the –dontForceMinReqs I can't seem to change the texture detail. With the texture detail at the minimum the game looks like absolute garbage. Is there any way around this?

It would seem that you also have an integrated chip on your motherboard . Who is your motherboard vendor and what model number ? Do you have all applicable updates for your computer ?

I definitely have a discrete graphich card.(ASUS GTX560) While my motherboard(ASUS P8Z77-V) does have an integrated option I have it disabled in the bios. And yes all my drivers are compeletely up to date.

Yep i saw that in the Dxdiag report . Do you also have the LucidLogix VIRTU drivers installed ? It`s an automatic GPU switching program that controls which GPU is used for different programs .

Nope. I made a point to avoid those drivers. I has problems with optimus on my old laptop and I tend to be suspicious of gpu switchers.

I'm having the issue of not meeting minimum requirements on my Sony Vaio laptop and I am pretty sure that my graphics card is the problem despite having sufficient video ram etc. Any advice guys?

Try the –dontForceMinReqs setting first (instructions here for the Steam version and here for non-Steam).

If that doesn't solve the problem, please give more details about your laptop. Vaio covers quite a big range of possibilities. :)

Thank you it worked :) only problem I have know is the game runs way too slowly to be playable but I expected that using an unsupported graphics card. Ah well

I am having this problem to. I got the game on a steam sale but it will not run. I think I have an intel chip but my lap top can run skyrim on pretty decent settings so I am just confused.

error on startup here also

–dontForceMinReqs

is a good workaround but I cannot turn ON antialiasing and cahange texture quality from LOW (f*ck)

as changing settings in regedit does't work

I have a crossfire sys with 2 radeonHD 6850, 8GB RAM, quad core CPU
win 7 - 64 bit

installed the witcher - GOG version 2.0

help is really appreciated!

Do you have an integrated chip on your motherboard ? That would be the only reason I can think of as to why the game isn`t "seeing" your discrete card .

none, I'm trying to change my video driver
let's see

cpuz report in attach

no way it doesn't work
I tryed AMD catalyst 13.2b7 and 13.3b2 and 13.3b3 (also!)

I cannot play with –dontForceMinReqs workaround
the game textures are pity with low quality setting... I'm upset
