Hello,

I have the Steam version of The Witcher EE DC. I was able to play the game fine, then suddenly, I got the "Warning! System Requirements Not Met" message.

My Specs:
Model: Alienware Aurora Desktop
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
CPU: i7-960
GPU: MSI GTX 560 Ti

I definitely have the requirements. The game was working fine.
If I use the -dontforceminreqs, then AA is not available and I can't play at 1920x1080.

I changed my drivers from 301.42 to 296.10. To be honest the 300 series drivers was really unstable for me. It caused a few BSODs.

For about 2 days (5 hours of playtime) the game worked correctly again on the 200 series drivers.

Now, I get the "Warning! System Requirements Not Met" again.

The Witcher 2 still works fine.
Diable 3 still works fine.

Only The Witcher EE DC is giving me this trouble.

Have you run a game cache integrity verification and are you running the game as administrator ?

I am running the game as administrator.

I will run a game cache integrity verification tonight and let you know how it goes.

FYI: Tonight, for me, is in roughly 10 hrs from this post.

The game was not made for your computer. An Athlon XP does not satisfy the minimum requirement, which is a Pentium 4 or Athlon 64. The stated minimum requirements for this game have always included a statement that the Athlon XP is specifically not supported.

In case the message has not sunk in yet, there are very good reasons why this and other recent and modern games specifically require the SSE2 instruction set that you have demanded that the game be compiled without, just for you.

The SSE2 instruction set was developed by Intel specifically to support real-time graphics required for professional applications and gaming. There is no satisfactory alternative to it. Demands that a developer avoid it in order to support one customer with a long-obsolete computer are absurd.

No matter how many times you ask the same question, you will get the same answer.

That is simply not true. Witcher demo run fine on my PC. EE loads and doesn't have SSE2 requirements because it wouldn't load at all.
Guess I'try to report to ATI then. Maybe there is problem with opengl component of ATI drivers.

Running the demo and running the game are different things. You can proceed so far as you do not encounter an SSE2 instruction.

The game is KNOWN NOT TO RUN on Athlon XP. So I doubt there is any hope of assistance. Stop running up your electric bill by continuing to run that ancient power hog.

Note the following from the game readme file .
The following processors are out of range: AMD Duron Series, AMD Athlon XP 2400+ through 3200+, AMD Sempron 2400+ through 2800+, and the INTEL Celeron Series.

If you are using any of the mentioned processors and if the game works then that`s ok but if the game doesn`t work then there is nothing we can do to help you .

I looked further into the Athlon XP compatibility issue. Even if the game were recompiled without SSE2 support, which would send performance to hell in a handcart, there is third-party software like Bink that isn't compatible and can't be procured in an unsupported version.

Users who have tried running original TW1 (not EE; EE collapses quickly) on an Athlon XP report that it runs at a bad frame rate for a while, then crashes. About what you'd expect.

Hi!

Okay so i got the same problem as a lot of the people here do, i get the "Warning! Minimum system requirements not met!" error sign. However I have tried the -dontForceMinReqs comand, though it works, it's with the lowest texture setting and i simply can't stand that. I didn't buy the game to look like... wel that. I do not got that optimus problem others seem to have either. Got intel chipset and an avi graphic card. The witcher 2 runs flawless. attached pcwizard file of video.

I really wish to play the witcher 1 before the second one....please help?

Oh and i forgot to mention, i have the steam version The Witcher: enhanced edition.

Could you list your computer make and model ?
Optimus is only for Intel - Nvidia combo .
I`m guessing Dell/Alienware .

Attached DxDiag file!

Thanks for the quick response btw!

Wops just noticed that you had to click the "attach this file" after upload. Added the pcwizard file now too.

Have you ran a file integrity check through Steam to ensure you have all the game files
I didn`t see anything in the PCWizard report indicating that you have an integrated video chip , of course i may have overlooked it .
You could go into your BIOS and make sure that the 5770 is set to be the default card to use . Are all applicable software and motherboard updates from ASUS current ?

Another thing to check for is Lucid Virtu. Most recent motherboards (Z77 chipset and up) will have this crapware included on the utilities disk. It may be under a different name, and it may install without even asking you.

The same way Optimus confuses TW1, Virtu exposes the built-in graphics processor on the CPU, and TW1 checks the graphics processor before making any Direct3D calls that would activate the graphics card. As soon as it sees "Intel", it declares "minimum system requirements not met".

Sometimes going into the BIOS and making whatever setting is needed to force the system to boot with the discrete GPU (graphics card) as primary will frustrate Virtu enough to get the game to do the right thing. Sometimes plugging the monitor into the graphics card, not the on-board video port, will do it. Either of these kludges may also break other software that was expecting to use the built-in graphics processor.

Windows 8 may introduce additional complications, as Microsoft and Intel are in cahoots to destroy the market for discrete GPUs.

Yeah there is am intergrated video chip though it should not be in use. I'll try to check over that again tonight!
Every piece is updated to newest drivers and i did run a steam integrity check, for no luck.

I'll look over it to see if i can find anything, though the cable is always in the graphic card slot, never use the intergrated one. Though still seems silly for Witcher 1 to screw me over xD

Well as i said in my post above the cables from both monitors goes in the graphic card. I looked around for Lucid Virtu as Guy said. Though i found something Called LucidLogix Virtu MVP in the motherboard book there wasn't anything in my bois where it was supposed to be. Couldn't even find gpu clockspeed or what not. I checked the disc if there were any instaltion files for such thing, however i found NOTHING even remotly mentioning it to my surprise. I got some weird lack of a driver on the other hand "PCI Simple Communications Controller" could find any driver for it im afraid, though i will keep looking.

Again thanks for the help.

That would be the monster that Guy is referring to . Try looking in installed programs (Programs and Features) for anything by Lucid Technologies .
