Hi,
I've just got the enhanced edition. While playing at the beginning of act V I found while fighting the soldiers (outside the hospital for instance) I hardly ever hit them. I was using the correct sword and have fairly high skills in multiple styles for steel sword. But again and again I would miss and never really get any "combos" going.
Is there something I am missing? I get bored of clicking and missing over and over. I could use signs but I designed the character to use swords.
ssssssssssssssss

[ACT V] Problems hitting Order soldiers

They are pretty easy to hit even without potions, under hard mode and with only bronze talents in swords.
Use strong or fast style. Group won't do it.

Geralt's attacks get disrupted if he becomes stunned or blinded or is in pain. If you're surrounded by Order knights, it may be impossible to hit one of them because the attacks from all of them keep disrupting you.
You need to keep from being surrounded. You need to 1) find a place where they can only come at you one at a time, or 2) move around a lot -- you have a speed advantage over those ponderous guys in armor. Whack one, then move to a different spot before they all move on you, whack another one, move again; repeat as necesssary.

Want to be IN a computer game? I'm making one, and I want a picture of you! See here for details.
I've made three new adventures for TW1; you can get them at corylea.com/.
I've also made a bunch of mods that fix bugs, kill annoyances or tweak gameplay; you can get those at the Witcher Nexus.

I used to be very agile with Geralt as well, often jump over an enemy and start a new attack if Geralt gets attacked whereas he is fighting one knight. Sometimes it's a bit laggy and hard to move smoothly.
Knight are human so they bleed (Brown Oil) and they feel pain (Crinfrid oil).
Or try a bomb ;D King and Queen evokes fear, maybe some run away and you can take one after the other.
Or Samum which stuns enemies but I don't know if you can stun heavy armored knights.

I can see what you see not, Visions milky then eyes rot.
When you turn they will be gone, whispering their hidden song.
Then you see what cannot be, shadows move where light should be.
Out of darkness, out of mind – cast down into the Halls of the Blind…
