Just finished the game.  :'(

Don't know what to say really ... this is a fantastic RPG. The story, characters, earthiness of the world and people, the easy blend of magic and swordplay, the great visuals ... it all  just got me sucked right in. This game got me caring about a fictional character, Geralt, and all the people he met along the way. Like a spoilt child I don't want it to be over. Sad really. I haven't felt this way since I finished reading Harry Potter. I wonder if I'll be able to play it again taking a different side or staying neutral. I suppose there's always the few "relationships" that Geralt didn't have ... the Lady of the Lake for one  ..... like I said ... SAD!

Play it again and try an other path and retard the end of each chapter as long as possible. That's what I'm doing now with my third play throught. Doing things here, settle something there and finally prepare for the final battle  ;D
It has the advantage that one discover things which you missed on the previous play.
I can see what you see not, Visions milky then eyes rot.
When you turn they will be gone, whispering their hidden song.
Then you see what cannot be, shadows move where light should be.
Out of darkness, out of mind – cast down into the Halls of the Blind…

You can make other decisions earlier in the game und then you would see other shapes of people and story ;) Some people did the game a lot of times and still find out new things in it, so don't be sad and give it another try, hope you will enjoy as the first time

I know exactly what you mean... I finished game at least three times on regular dificulty and once on hard... I tried I think everything possible and I still play it. It sucked me in like no game before. I always feel sad when its near the end, even more becuse I want to know what happens next, but I doubt my PC will be able to handle Assassins of Kings.

I made almost this same post earlier today and can`t believe i hadn`t seen this one. On my 1st playthrough i was torn both from wanting to see how it ended to not at all wanting it to end that is how involving the story is and in agreeing with the OP that is how you KNOW the witcher was and is a fantastically GREAT game

I just finished it myself. I'm always a little scared when it comes to ideas like time travel (think God of War 2) but I was satisfied with the overal game itself.

I worry about my PC running it but I've decided to run it on minimum settings or get a new graphics card at some point. Console versions are still possibly in the works; I wonder how AoK's would handle the previous decision making process if that's a part of the game on consoles where there is no previous save file.

I would assume there would be a series of multiple answers to questions about your decisions from TW1 but again this is just my opinion

I'm about to start my 3rd run through the game after going through easy and medium (respectively) and I definitely picked up on some things in the second round that I missed in the first. This time around I'll be even more thorough. (And maybe remember I can use steel instead of silver during alot of the final battle). GRR! As it stands despite some moderate difficulty...Geralt was a killing machine up to that point...WOOT for having Tryss along too! Definitely a great game.

As you yourself just said, doubting your current computer could handle TW2, sadly my 5+ year old thing I'd doubt either...wasn't even top of the line when I got it either. Ah incentive to save and replace. Particularly it'd be nice if could play the original Witcher with settings maxed as I'm sure that it would then be an even better drool inducer...Old Vizima in act 5 KILLS! my framerate and would look so nice if only...if only...

In Encircled Ground - Devise Strategems.
In Death Grounds - FIGHT!

I just finished this game yesterday, after staying up all night the day before because I was soooo immersed in it. Bit sad it is over now. Best game I have played since the original Mafia. It really pulled me in and has such a great and original story.

Tempting to start again and make some different choices. By sheer coincidence I banged the Lady of the Lake as I happened to go back there in the right moment I suppose (though I must admit she also called me Sir Bonehead at first...), but I'd like to see how it is if I choose Triss instead of Shani for example. And if I choose something else than the Order. Being neutral all the way seemed like an impossible task (would have to read up on which options to take I guess), but would be interesting to see how it is to side with the other side too.

The final boss fight was a little bit of an anticlimax, thought it'd be harder. But then I did play it on Easy (I think). In about Act 5 I noticed the effect of secondary ingredients, so will do more of that on a new play. And will sell a LOT more stuff from the inventory. I had almost two full pages in the Inn by the end, and something like 15-20 valuable rings, plus a pile of runes and meteorites. Tended to stash it all there in case I needed it later.

A lovely universe CDP has created, and a fantastic game. Shame reviewers haven't given the game the scores it deserves. Sadly having a big name, like BioWare or EA, yields better results even if the game is worse. I've stopped trusting reviewers.

Hope Witcher 2 will go on in much the same path (certainly looks like it!) and give us another wonderful gaming experience, without raping the game like happened to ME2. I'm not even a big gamer, but this one just pulled me in. Hats off to CDP

I agree with so many of things you say here Pangaea. .I just finished the game mere moments ago and was really blown away the by the epilogue.  I am very curios to see how making different decisions will affect a new playthrough.  Too bad I have so many other games I'm trying get through.  (I'm probably halfway through the first STALKER game which is also a great game)  I will be preordering TW2 very soon.

Thanks for passing that along.  It was fun hearing his long exhale, followed by "WOW!!" :-)

Want to be IN a computer game? I'm making one, and I want a picture of you! See here for details.

I've made three new adventures for TW1; you can get them at corylea.com/.

I've also made a bunch of mods that fix bugs, kill annoyances or tweak gameplay; you can get those at the Witcher Nexus.

I started following his videos on youtube after that, it's actually quite entartaining seeing it through the eyes of a new player.

Very true.  If you feel you want MORE is also good but the sad part tells you a lot.  I can barely wait to get my hands on The Witcher 2.

When I finished Dragon Age 2 I felt cheated.
