I hadn't thought of this before but, I just remembered I had some cat collar in my quest items and don't think I ever used it. I can't really remember what Act it was in either--sorry. Someone know what it was for?

It belongs to act IV, it is needed for a griggs quest ;)

I got some items from the other caves in Act 5 too, from a refugee's cave and the old mine IIRC. No idea what that could be used for. One of them even said it was of unknown meaning, or something like that. Were these Easter eggs?

These items would have been useful if you followed any other faction. Remember in raven armor quest you are asked to bring certain items. each faction asks for different items. If you find items that other factions would have asked for, it would look like useless items to you.

Found it odd there was no use for them, but I guess it would be odd to remove them too, depending on what path I chose. They should be there no matter what after all.

I ended the game with two each of Grandma's pickles, lard and diary, for some reason. Also, the Scoiatel tended to drop items that claimed to be quest items but weren't. And I had lots of duplicate supposedly-unique swords.

No they ARE quest item actually. Next time you play the game, choose the Order path and you'll know what I mean :-)

As for the lard and peckels: sort of bug I think, it happened to me soooooo many times (like the multiple dice boxes found in Chp 1).

No, I mean Harvall. I think I've got three of it. I think a meteorite sword also doubled, and I suddenly had an extra silver sword at some point.

I also have this nagging suspicion that during chapter 3 at least new expensive alchemical ingredients kept popping up in my storage.

If you have access to storage yes you can get a few 'duplicate swords like Harvall of which i know there are 2 in game and mahakam rune Sihil i think is the name of it and i know that you can get access to at three meteorite swords that you don`t have to buy and two silver swords aerondight and moonblade
