Steel.

Silver is mostly for Monsters  Steel will work best on  Mortals Elves are just as Mortal as any human are

Elves in this world  are not as magical as in other stories.

Does not matter how Long one lives What matter most is how we live

In other words, elves are people, too.  :D

I've made three new adventures for TW1; you can get them at corylea.com/.

I've also made a bunch of mods that fix bugs, kill annoyances or tweak gameplay; you can get those at the Witcher Nexus.

Are they?

I recall a certain part of "The end of the World", one of the short stories in "The Last Wish", in which exspecially the long age of elves was commented on.
On top, weren't they the ones that were here before humans were brought here? That should actually make humans weak against silver, as they are not of tis world.

But yes, nothing better than a nice slash with your steel sword to make a dead elf.
Remember, only a dead elf is a good elf  ;D

The books do say that humans came to this world from another place.  On the other hand, I've seen half-elves wandering the streets of Vizima.  I'm no biologist, but you don't have to be one to know that two creatures that can mate and have offspring have to be pretty damned similar.

"It's a kind of magic" - Freddy Mercury  ;)

Granted.

Taking a different approach: What would be the best for a magician, like Stregebor from the book.
He's human, therefore steel, but he wields the power of magic, therefore silver?
Same with the sorceresses.

Interesting question.  I think the answer depends on whether magic helps make it possible for them to live at all or whether they're people with magic added on.  Since I think it's probably the latter, I'd go for steel, myself.

So a "normal" magician like Stregebor, that could be forced away from magic and still survive would be weak against steel.
One that is dependant on magic, for any bodily funtion, let's say the heart, would be weak against silver (no pun intended)?

Hmm, could make for some interesting mods or ideas.

By the way, my sincerest apologies that this became off-topic.
