Don't worry -- you CAN'T kill the mage in the bubble.  He's one of the main characters in the story, and you'll be having run-ins with him for the entire game.

I've made three new adventures for TW1; you can get them at corylea.com/.

I've also made a bunch of mods that fix bugs, kill annoyances or tweak gameplay; you can get those at the Witcher Nexus.

If you mean Savolla, you have to kill the four characters surrounding him first, to break the "bubble".  Then attack him, using Strong Style.  Aard helps too.

Oh, the ring, as opposed to the bubble. :-)  How to tell when you're playing a fantasy game.

I forget if it's Leo or Triss or if Geralt says it aloud to himself, but one of them tells you that Savola's getting strength from his followers and that you need to kill them first.  Always listen to what people tell you in the game, because they often give you really crucial information!

Have some fun whacking people who aren't in bubbles  ;D and they seemed to fall down really easily for me.... and don't forget, you may have a Swallow in your inventory if you're really struggling  :)

And Corylea, I think it's actually Savolla himself - Tris says the most he can manage is mage lights after teleporting, and he replies that he'll draw strength from his people. At least, I think it is  :)

He does say that.  Also, Leo used to shout instructions from the sidelines, but I don't remember hearing him do that in the EE; maybe I just wasn't paying attention.  Whoever says it -- listen to what's said; lots of it isn't just atmosphere!

And I LOVE your little blue elephant!  So cute.

You have to kill the bandits surrounding him and if you have trouble with the hard damage Savolla hits you, try hitting him with the Aard then wacking him with the Strong Style(be careful, the dude knows teleportation ;))

If it has not already been said, kill his minions first, then tackle Savolla ... the best i've managed is two bouts to kill him, and the worst, more like ten ;)

Even if poor Geralt (who is regaining his memory and fighting skills) manages to kill Savolla's lackeys he (at least my Geralt on my first attempt) isn't agile enough to launch successful strong blows on Savolla. This  Posted Image guy always buzzes of via teleportation.
I can see what you see not, Visions milky then eyes rot.
When you turn they will be gone, whispering their hidden song.
Then you see what cannot be, shadows move where light should be.
Out of darkness, out of mind – cast down into the Halls of the Blind…

What they said. Use fast style at first to bring him below 66%, then switch to strong style. Enemies lose their ability to dodge blows once they fall below a certain amount of health.

I've restarted the game in hard and chosen to go with Triss to the lab. Now the problem: Savolla is in the bubble _without_ his bodyguards giving him support as in easy/medium difficulty. How the hell do I kill this dude? I've been dying like no tomorrow. HEEEEELP  :D

what worked for me, was once his bodyguards were killed, to hit him with fast style a couple times, then Aard, rinse and repeat;

What I meant was there are _not_ any bodyguards from the beginning. Nobody to kill and the bubble could not be destroyed since it seems to be self supported.  Is it how it is in hard difficulty or could it be a bug?

Chances are you would stun him with strong style and make the battle shorter. For some reason I kept stunning the enemies in the Prologue with just strong blows, while it didn't work that easily afterwards..

Follow up:  It is a bug. Replaying the level solved this.

;D!!

It was hard to kill Savolla maybe you would prefer fighting the frightner.  Since I found that hard I went to kill Savolla.......you must first kill the salamandra bandit's he uses then you have to blast Savolla a number of times with the Aard.  After that you should try and attak him directly.......that is a hard ques but you will make it.......Don't forget to take the potions.......it's IMPERATIVE or you'll die almost instantly....
GD LUCK!! :D!

What level of difficulty is this, may I ask?
"Dandelion, you'd better watch out", said Geralt, smirking. "I've seen your bride here".
Dandelion paled.
"Which one?"
