I tryed to run it on my laptop which has xp and it works fine.I've also tryed to install it in safe mode.
I run vista on my pc.
I have 9800x2
Quad core 2.4ghz
4gb

I have the same problem. I have 800gb on my com more than enough space for this game and yet nothing. He says he fixed the problem but I don't understand what he means by the folder that got deleted please help me I've wanted to play this game for a long time now.

For Vista or 7 open computer then open "C" select and open Users then open Public now you should be looking at several folders . The one you are looking for is called Public Documents. If one does not exist right click on an empty area and right click then hover your mouse over new and select folder and name it to Public Documents. Then retry installing game

I would imagine so. It's a newly redone computer and I'm the only one who uses it.

I've got all the admin stuff so I'm not creating a new user. What do you mean by documents folder? Like My Documents or some other folder?

The documents folder i`m referring to is located in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents

If Documents is not listed right click an empty area and hover mouse on new and select folder and name it to Documents and retry reinstalling

I have Shared Documents but not Documents. I tried to create a new folder with that name but I get an error telling me I already have a folder with that name when I don't.

I will try to refresh my memory on XP though no easy task in itself !

Is your system up to date with all service packs and do you have at the very least .NET 2.0

While you try to install on your "G" the saved games go on the "C" drive and the extra adventures also go on the "C" drive how much free space do you have on "C"

Also check "C" properties to make sure disk quota is not enabled

TW2 Enhanced Edition Patch install errors? See my post

(not for Steam) Enhanced Edition gives you "application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142)" error? See here

I am aware of that. I have 82.6gb of free space on my C: drive. As for service packs and .NET 2.0 I have no idea. I don't manually update anything on my computer for fear of installing something malicious because I've heard awful stories about service packs crashing people computers and I don't want that.

Also as a side note I think it's pretty stupid for a game to install anything on one drive when you tell it to install on another. Seriously I tell it to install on G: because that's where my space is not on C: what if I didn't have space on my C: drive yeah? Then it wouldn't matter that I had a whole 'nother drive I still wouldn't be able to install anything, it's so stupid!

Service packs as long as they come from Microsoft will be fine as service packs enhance the security of your machine . In other words they make the security better as well as fix compatibility issues
Same goes for .net 2.0 it also comes from Microsoft

The game when installed will be on "G" but the saved games that you make while playing and the extra adventures will be on "C" . If you don`t want the extra adventures those can be deleted if you wish

I know what service packs are but just because they're from Microsoft doesn't make them perfect. Many times when I was still using my mums computer she would tell me not to update anything because the most recent service pack was bugged and was crashing computers and we had to wait until fixes came before we installed anything.
However now that I think about it this computer installs things automatically rather than waiting for you to do it yourself after being prompted with a bubble so I would assume it has whatever the computer download and installs on itself when I shut down.

And I know about the G: and C: drive doesn't make it any less stupid for a game to work that way. Sure I can delete them, but then I've lost parts of my game haven't I?

but still 82 GB should well be more than enough to install no more than than a couple of GB of extra adventures. That`s whats got me bugged right now you`ve got the space but the game says you don`t

Generally speaking a computer will come with microsoft update preconfigured so as to get all available updates as soon as they are released

I just checked and everything seems to be up to date as it should be. Now the question of why won't it install?

I did some checking and the extra adventures go in
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Shared Documents\The Witcher

I know with vista and 7 when you get the not enough space error it means the public documents folder is missing.

Have you tried installing in safe mode with networking ?
