I was wondering, which silversword is the better on. Sure, if you look only for damage, it is the Moon Blade, but Aerondight increases attack and some special effects, that may activate some skills of Gerald, like in combination with blinding.

What do you think?

I think overall the Moonblade is best. You get what it says all the time, 100%

Maybe in some situations Aerondight would be  better but not all the time. It's effects don't always process.

my personal preference is also for the Moonblade .. but i prefer it for no good reason at all. Honestly, i just have a need to use anything (weapon)  that increases damage by 100 %  ;D

but in all the times i've played the witcher, this is the one case where you can switch between two silver blades. At least in my installation of the game, when i get the moonblade from the huntsman and Aerondight falls to the ground, it stays there. In subsequent visits to the cave, it is still there and i can drop the moonblade and pick up Aerondight. The reverse is also true.

I have not encountered this option anywhere else in the game. In all other instances, dropping my existing silver blade means it will disappear if i leave the area and come back, but not Aerondight or the Moonblade.  :)

I tried both now and in my own personal opinion, I prefer Aerondight because Geralt can't really miss on any hits with it, especially good when you didn't skill fast silver at all and thus rely on strong silver.

hm, you make it really hard for me. I've looked in a German forum aswell, and there it is the same. Some say so, others so, but some more tend to Aerondight, because of the attackboni and the special effect, but always depends on the individual skilling.

I'm also thinking about the lady of the sea, and that this is THE Sword *g*, but the one, that Foltest gives to me after saving Adda is lame anyway.

By the time you get them it's six of one and half a dozen of the other.

Too late to exp grind at that point in my opinion and that's about the only activity where if one was better it would be worth having.

iI have skilled in almost all of the fist attributes, like strength, endurance and so on with silver and some gold.
Strong Silver and steel on gold, the other types on 4. grade. some signs on 3./4. grade. Up to now, everything works out fine.

By the time you get the moonblade you can mow through enemies so easy anyway that it doesn't matter which one you take, so I prefer Aerondight because it's a cool gift from a cool NPC. I actually forgot to talk to the huntsman again after bringing him the last head to get the moonblade - I realised that only after I finished the game. Aerondight with argentia oil easily pwns everything that this game can throw at you on a hard mode, Koschey went down in like 15-20 seconds without hitting me once - it seems to be easily interrupted if you can keep your attack chain on.

Like it was mentioned, it's the stats that matter most, you could just as easily beat everything with the standard starter steel/silver swords. I had strength and dexterity fully maxed and sometimes I could just stand still and watch at enemie's futile attempts to scratch Geralt

Personally, I also prefer Moonblade and I have 3 reasons for it:
it is better against tough opponents,
it is the only silver sword that looks completely different that your default silver sword,
it is the hardest weapon to get (only one chance) and Aerondight recieves everybody.  ;)
